this is a long overdue editing and tying-together of the collapse arc, refining mechanics and writing a bit now that it's over. I had a lot of issues with it that I really wanted to settle, and now, I feel way more confident in the game. I hope you like it!

and I really mean ALL of its ideas. EP2/EP3's combat systems, how items work at all, FRAME, EP4's systems... every single fight is revisited or combined to be more memorable. I think it'll end up being a shorter (base) experience overall, but far more enjoyable.

how much longer it will take is hard to say, but we're all the way through reworking the main systems & content, and have been working on small-scope new stuff (mask things)! so hopefully not much longer! because if it takes another 2 months they're feeding me to this thing

and as a little status report - the update I've been working on since our last is the Embassy rework! a HUGE refinement of ALL its ideas. I've wanted to do this since even before EP4 began dev... it's been SO difficult, but it'll be worth it!!! (esp. the EP4 improvements...😈)

anyway, E4A1 is around the corner now! it's mechanically complete, we're just adding a few more fun things and finishing art. then, we'll do that embassy rework I've been planning, followed by maybe 2 more ADDs before we get into EP5!! (too many ideas for just one more)

forgive the long silence after EP4's release, there was a LOT of experimenting to inspire and place the roots of what's coming. also... new merch soon! next month maybe? we're nearly through the sampling process, and something very special is being made. it's gonna be sick.

similar to EP3's release, there are no memory holes or mask interactions to find yet. this is just the main experience - more to come the next update shouldn't take 6+ months to make. that was crazy and hard and I don't wanna do it again lol

in EP4, there's this problem where New Thing gets really choppy on firefox after a certain amount of time for no reason. i troubleshot and optimized every function and algorithm involved, to no effect... but today i fixed it by making the container move a little for 10 milliseconds occasionally

it's so absurd. we just have to jostle the webrenderer a little every now and then. "hey buddy you ok? dozing off? you gotta focus ok?" the actual issue is probably rasterization related, but every update reveals some strange new behavior because we use CSS and HTML in more and more cursed ways

I had a whole stream setup ready to go, but 6 months later i am surrounded with giant stacks of arcane plans and cursed obsidian canvases, barely having interacted with more than a handful of people in that time... but the answers are near. the work continues

xwitter is such a scum pond. at least once a week there's been a crypto scam popping up claiming to have created corru.observer, and re-appropriating my posts in the most nonsensical AI way possible once, they cloned the homepage and remade the intro dialogue to be crypto-themed. it was so cursed
