Something I think about often is how a failure to understand probability and risk leads people to wrong conclusions about what their/our best options are in life and for governing policies. Looking back doesn't always inform about what's most likely to happen in the future.

I have an idea for Katie Zacharia, and I'm completely serious: She should study her heart out and pass the bar. She made it through law school, so she clearly has a functioning brain. She's going to need to reframe her thoughts and lean into some serious resilience to come out of this okay.
