I too am uncomfortable when brown people have opinions.

I disagree. His demeanour was, at best, uncomfortable. Then again, if you agree with what Ashok was saying, you’re free to disagree that he wasn’t mansplaning, dismissive, or patronising.

Good example of how taking principled positions shifts the terms of the debate. The presenter and pundits didn't challenge Israel being a racist state more about one or two states.

Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour. Join the Green Party. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

6/ Political economist Ashok Kumar @comrade-kumar.bsky.social is the most unapologetic & sharpest voices on this. He even called out his own allies at Novara for sounding like legacy media. Today he laid out the strategy in a long conversation, worth your time: bsky.app/profile/comr...

Had a lengthy discussion about Green political strategy on Novara

We need more public honesty and introspection about Zionism and its outcomes. This show alone vindicated the Green Party motion.

I really got surprised by the lack of people pushing back on @rmcunliffe.bsky.social in the replies but then I remembered how blusky blocking works. In either case, @comrade-kumar.bsky.social was exceptional! @newstatesman1913.bsky.social you really ought to do better.

I don’t normally post media appearances, but this feels like an exception. On Politics Live today I’d planned to discuss Green Party infighting after the Zionism motion, entryism, Labour’s response. That kinda thing. It ended up with… well, you’ll see. Final segment. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Answering The Guardian at the press conference: the Zionism is Racism motion passed with the largest democratic mandate in Green Party history. Amendments cannot be introduced until 2028. MPs have the same voting rights as all 230,000 members. The Green Party is now anti-Zionist.

Novara kept asking about strategy at the Greens for Palestine press conference. They mistake a comms strategy for a political strategy. We have a political strategy and build our comms around it. The storm may be raging but the Greens will emerge from this stronger. Tune in to Novara 6pm Tuesday.

All week we've had a scorched earth campaign from senior Greens in our media decrying the Zionism is Racism motion as not Green values (it is). Meanwhile they have at the same time been trashing a very settled Green value - our one member, one vote led democracy because they didn't like the outcome.

Some Green Party leaders oppose the Zionism is racism motion because it “undermines Jewish self-determination.” But Zionism requires the destruction of another people’s self-determination. Those people are the Palestinians.

Ed Sheeran’s tears weren’t for the mothers and fathers of Gaza carrying their children’s remains in bags, or the thousands of children who have undergone amputations without anaesthesia. His tears were for the money and fans he lost for by being a coward.

"It takes months to build relationships, and seconds to destroy them." This is on you, Sheeran.
