A thread: Friday marked 3 months since we returned from Verona & I forced my hubby to see his GP due to being in terrible pain for 3 months with what he thought was sciatica. His GP tested him & broke the news that he had prostate cancer as his PSA level was 2108 & should’ve been around 5. 1/4

3/4 He never had any of the classic symptoms like urinary changes, issues with flow or blood in his pee. To all the men out there who avoid their GP or haven’t been tested it’s so easy but you have to ask for it as there’s no national screening programme which is shocking 🤬

4/4 To all the ladies with important males in their lives please make them #getchecked too. We’re trying to stay as positive as we can because what else can you do? 🤷‍♀️ We’re also trying to keep our sense of humour & enjoy life as much as possible as it really does make you cherish the small things 💙

2/4 After loads of tests he was diagnosed 2 weeks later with stage 4 incurable metastatic prostate cancer (it’s spread to his pelvis, hip, spine & lymph nodes). What a shock! To say we’re devastated is an understatement. #prostatecancer

My view today 😎 Sunning ourselves by the rooftop pool at our apartment. Our visit to surprise my daughter for her 40th was a total success and only met with 4 swear words (which I obviously told her off for ) 🤣😂

We landed safely in Almeria after a delay due to a medical emergency before we took off. Now to get to our apartment without bumping into my daughter so we can surprise her tonight for her 40th

At Speke airport flying off to surprise my daughter in Spain for her 40th birthday. Just need to hide when we arrive in her little town until we gate crash her celebration later. Hubby’s taken the fire stick so I can watch the match (unless I nod off as I’ve not slept all night!)

On the train from Euston for the match after a quick visit to see my stepson. Loads of Blues onboard but surprisingly I haven’t seen any Utd fans yet (unless they’re in disguise 🥸)

Massive performance from Mr Dynamite 🧨 and great to see him getting a little bit of respect - David Beckham’s latest Instagram post #Pickford

I planned to watch the whole game but went to bed at 10.30 😴Woke up at 3 expecting it to be over 🤣 What a 2nd half, gutted I missed the 1st but such a batting performance. Get in Pickford, warriors all of them 💪🏻

This weekend we’re in Verona for my belated birthday present from the hubs. It’s a beautiful city, very hot. Been drinking lots of spritz for €5-6. Today we’re in Bologna as it’s fairly close & another Italian city done. It has the biggest outdoor cinema I’ve ever seen

They’re showing old films for free and I have to keep stopping myself from saying that’d be great for the footy ( probably a sore point here 😂)

Widow’s Bay on Apple TV- we’ve watched about 4 episodes so far and I can well recommend it if you want something quirky and funny to watch. Starring Matthew Rhys, excellent fun so far

I’ve just read Seamus’s announcement🥺😭 He may not have been born a Blue but my god he bleeds blue now! What a servant he’s been & not just on the pitch. I doubt we’d still be playing continuously in the PL without his passion & commitment to the cause. #HappyRetirementSeamie 💙🤞🏻 he’s back to coach us

Gutted with the result but you know what I’m saying to the RS supporters in work… you get to keep Slot for another season…that’ll shut them up quick smart!

Just renewed my season ticket by phone. 18 minutes of everything from Z Cars, Everton Forever & Spirit of the Blues on loop. Had a little singalong while waiting. At the end of the call I was asked if I needed help with anything else- Me “A win on Sunday please” 🤞🏻💙 #COYB

Look what I made for pudding after yesterday’s Easter roast with my family. Mini egg cheesecake with fresh cream topping and lots of mini eggs in the cheesecake. It was delicious if I say so myself 😁

Happy birthday to me! It’s my third 21st (do the maths 🤣) so out celebrating later with a meal on the Royal Daffodil 🌼 Hoping the wind doesn’t pick up too much wind on the dock 😂 Hopefully town will be much quieter now 😏

I think I’m the only person who’s pleased the City game has been moved to the Monday evening as it’s my son’s wedding on the Saturday so I don’t have to miss it now (honestly, I meant miss the match, not the wedding 😬🤣)

You know what I enjoyed so much today…VAR was not given the chance to spoil our fun and we could just celebrate with wild abandon and not have to worry about having anything disallowed. Makes a pleasant change!

What. A. Game 💙Outstanding team performance by every player today. Just brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Also that atmosphere was incredible, the stadium was absolutely bouncing!

Early birthday cocktails and tapas with my friend before the match. What a beautiful day for the walk from town to our magnificent stadium later 💙 Really hoping for a great win today # COYB

First win since I started getting a coach to the ground from the local pub. Couldn’t resist starting a burst of “Singing the Blues” on the way home when we saw the ref finally blow for full time 🤣

Very satisfying win tonight! My hubby who’s a Burnley fan was asleep(?) when I got home but to be kind I’m not going to gloat too much as they’re likely to be relegated. However I very much enjoyed the coach journey home & the Wolves result and will happily laugh about that tomorrow #singingtheblues

Fantastic session in the #thehotplacesauna at Thurstaston. The sauna was roasting hot. I chickened out on a full plunge in the bath but went for it in the tub…ffffreezing 🥶

On the train home from a visit to my stepson in London. Very nervy journey waiting for the game to end but sounds like a great result! Really hope we can transfer some of our away match energy to home games!

So after the horrific news about #Grok I’ve finally deleted X. My account was open for 13years but enough’s enough! #Freedom My final tweet was to @evertonfc.com asking them to consider their decision to ignore Bluesky and choose to post there instead. I closed and deleted my account immediately

What a fantastic result with our makeshift team/squad. We really were on the bones of our backside tonight but managed a brilliant win in the circumstances 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Pleased for Barry to get another one and James Garner superb 💙

Another day, another train journey. This time we’re in Bratislava for the day. Just having an Aperol spritz (€6) rest my poor back in a massive shopping mall. Had coffee and cake earlier in a stunning shop and I left inspired!
