This is really thought provoking. As we consume AI content and AI becomes more human like, how are llms influencing us back and changing discourse?

Naomi Saphra@nsaphra.bsky.social

I've been unsettled lately when reading messages and papers. It feels like I'm dissociating. Everything seems a bit alien, even if it's completely human. I've had a realization: When our simulations finally exited the Uncanny Valley, they brought the Uncanny with them.

A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.

ZELENSKYY: Russia started war, committed war crimes, occupied part of our country. It's not just land — it's homes, people's lives. They stole childhood from our children. That's why, when we are asked what compromises we are ready to make, it sounds UNBELIEVABLY STRANGE to us.

I think what'll happen is that knowledge gets (even more) k-shaped between those who are curious and those who are not. For people that are, AI is an *insane* learning aid. An infinitely patient tutor who knows basically everything ever. For those who aren't, it can just think for them. ->

Coolest Claude Code finding of the day. I lost a script and Claude code managed to take the pyc (compiled python file), find a tool to extract it, and then cleaned it and polished the missing elements into the fully working 1800 line original script. Magic.

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

Things are dark. I expect they will get far darker still. The light may remain obscured for a decade—or more. But, for the first time in months, I can feel the lingering presence of genuine optimism.

Remember: The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy. When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice. The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.

I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.

We won’t unlock Michigan's future without growing manufacturing *and* creating new jobs in medical research, clean energy, ag, and other industries. Doing the same thing we did in the past without growing lacks a real vision for Michigan’s economy.

The disappearance of America’s leadership class at a time like this means that the rest of us have to be leaders. We can no longer wait to be led by those with the power and authority to lead. You must lead, I must lead, all of us must lead. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

This commentary offers a clear, powerful statement of why freedom of speech is at the heart of democracy and must be defended, whether the speaker is Charlie Kirk or Jimmy Kimmel, MAGA supporters or MAGA opponents.

The thing is, as much as they want to immortalize Charlie Kirk to justify and escalate their platform of hate, they’ll forget about him in a month and move onto something else. Hate is a fire. It has no memory. It doesn’t need a reason. It just needs to burn.
