The recently announced PHP security vulnerability is genuinely scary. Combined with rogue agents swarming all over the Internet... I had to disable backend services for Clues by Sam for a few hours until the patch lands. news-web.php.net/php.announce...

My transactional email provider just suspended my account. No one was able to create accounts or purchase puzzle packs. All my business ground to a halt on this beautiful morning on my vacation. I had to debug their system for them to get the account re-activated. They didn't even say sorry.

One of my favorite things about Clues by Sam @cluesbysam.com is the corner tags - I love the extra strategic layer of how to use them optimally and how clever I feel when my systems work out. Today, September 3rd, was a great showcase of all my favorite tagging strategies. Let me show you them!

I'm trying out Zed as a replacement for VSCode. Loving it so far, except when doing remote editing: I can't open up an arbitrary file from the remote terminal like in vscode ssh remote edit: github.com/zed-industri... Also, it was eating up 100% CPU on my local machine until I disabled all AI.

Clues by Sam just had a couple of minutes downtime. The VPS was running at 100% CPU and 100% memory, blocking all traffic. Why? Apparently VSCode indexing. Does some other editor have anything like VSCode's Remote SSH editing? Zed? Will I have to go back to Emacs?

Is it me or has the quality of tools and services started degrading since the advent of LLMs? Things that used to work just fine are introducing features no one asked for at a rapid pace, and with them a number of critical bugs. The speed of coding has surpassed the speed of QA and common sense?
