Shutting Napster down didn't stop piracy so they realised they had to take control another way. So Spotify was born, stripping artists of their dignity for less than pennies. Laying groundwork for devaluation not only of artists' rights to their own work but consumers' rights to own copies of it.

Jen Taub@jentaub.bsky.social

Still trying to understand how Napster got shut down, but Anthropic is going public and still hasn’t paid us authors yet after stealing our work.

i might have taken that tweet too literally but still it's a good starting point to look at how the creative industries have gradually been eroded over time, not because of piracy but because of the profit-motive. It's the perfect demonstration that they own it and they can take it away if they want

It's happening!!!!! Badger has been putting in such hard work and passion into this and I cannot wait to hear it. This is the first live show on the station and Jack has so bravely volunteered to be the first. His creativity and passion for music is infectious. So excited.

Radio! it's like podcast but all the time. But unlike the static, one-sided nature of a pod, radio allows you to be part of a living discourse of expression and community. It is immediate, interactive and inherently communal. At its best, radio can pull us together

There's so much potential for ideas in this space. Musical or not, CloudBuster celebrates the alternative and the unusual, and we show you how it reflects back on to our communities, vibrant and expressive and communal.
