Surprised this hasn’t popped up in ads from Talarico and Hinojosa. Surely folks in Texas Democratic campaigns have noticed that Elon Musk has a net -20 favorability in Texas despite living here making it HQ for SpaceX/Tesla www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

nbcnews.comElon Musk is flying under the radar in the Texas Senate race. Republicans want to keep it that way.One Republican involved in the Texas Senate contest called Musk’s in-your-face campaigning in Wisconsin last year “a mistake.”

Listening to Dan Deacon new Time & Water soundtrack while I write this morning and realizing that it would be so super cool if he did songs for Minecraft. I can obviously put his songs on while I build, but imagine if there were Dan Deacon music discs in the game.

So excited that I can finally talk about this! We're working with Chicago Public Media to bring @roundabout.town to communities across Chicago, under the umbrella of chicago.com! (all built on atproto!)

New_ Public@newpublic.org

Thrilled to share that our project @roundabout.town (give them a follow!) will be powering new, healthy digital public spaces in Chicago! This is part of Chicago.com, a partnership with Chicago Public Media, which is the @chicago.suntimes.com and @wbez.org. www.niemanlab.org/2026/08/can-...

Health insurance in America is so broken. How many of y’all basically have a part-time job in the mornings, on lunch breaks and late afternoons where you squeeze in calling your provider during their hours to help them figure out how to progress a claim for yourself or family?

I’ve been working on “a project” with Aetna since March, dutifully filling out forms, doing follow-up calls, deciphering obtuse language in PDFs and taking careful notes so I can remind my teammates of our next milestone and action items. Today I basically did a client interview on their org chart.

This would still be embarrassing and tacky if it were a baseball or basketball game at the white house and not mixed martial arts cage fighting but now it looks like some kind of a crypto grift apparently

confidence in Mitch Johnson as a finals coach chart

peak in-game win probability for Spurs in finals losses: game 1: 94.1% (Q3 6:31) game 2: 90.9% (Q2 11:32) game 4: 98.7% (Q4 9:33) game 5: 97.1% (Q4 7:54) image is game 5 nose dive

happy for NYC and Knicks fans to finally win another championship, but man this is why this finals was so brutal as a Spurs fan. literally record breaking levels of choking

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

Craziest stat for me The Knicks had the #1, #3, and #5 biggest comeback wins in NBA Finals history In the same Finals

We’re going to Game 5 in SA and I expect lots of Knicks fans because its cheaper to buy a ticket in SA, fly there, stay at a hotel, than it is just to even get into MSG. Plus they could win it all! But TX group chats and FB are full of these beating stories/videos. I just hope Spurs fans stay chill.

I say this as a Spurs fan who likes the Knicks! I was in NYC when they made the finals and walked down to MSG to watch the celebrations because those NYC moments are incredible. Here are some photos I took! But maybe its worth acknowledging in these feel good stories that attacking fans sucks

now these are some vibes

From @theathletic.com: When Victor Wembanyama went to Gramercy Park before Game 3 to sketch a statue, it was more than just having fun in his free time. It was his process. As he sat there, sketching Hamlet, he saw his perspective on a tragic figure.

still can’t believe the spurs won that game and are going to the finals moved home to Texas last year and drove down to SA for several games because they were just a fun team to watch, these guys brought me back to the NBA, back to my hometown team unreal that they’re playing for it all now

Today the A’s lost. It’s entirely possible that tomorrow the AL West could be led by a team with a losing record The Astros are only 5 games back. Yes, they just lost Altuve for 6-8 weeks, but Peña returns this series. Soon, they’ll be on top of this trash division

Trei Brundrett@clockwerks.bsky.social

I appreciate the AL West staying trash while the Astros fill the infirmary at historic rates The A’s, who literally can’t host postseason games, lead the division with a record one game over .500 You heard here first - the Astros will make the postseason to spite all the haters and then lose in 3

this might be toughest minor league assignment in the game you were a big beautiful apex predator marlin with a rapier bill? now you’re a tiny shrimp (jumbo is a food marketing term) oh and you’re moving to jacksonville from miami, hope you like strip malls

Like many small nonprofits, we’ve been experimenting with using AI tools so that we can focus on our mission of reinforcing human connections, conversations, and communities. We remain mindful of the harms and risks of AI, and have developed a set of guiding principles grounded in our values.

One of the top reasons I love building at @newpublic.org is all the research, the core of how they work. SO MUCH RESEARCH. This work, led by @taliastroud.bsky.social (hook 'em horns) has already directly influenced decisions we've made with our new local social platform. Sign up and check it out.

We’ve got one of the most in-depth surveys on how Americans connect with neighbors online — what works, what doesn't, what they want instead. These are essential insights for anyone thinking about local communities. Join us 11/20 when @taliastroud.bsky.social & @eli.bsky.social share the data

the string of ace starters making relief appearances in WS games should come out like wrestling surprise entrants with the music and everything, a shocked batter’s mouth dropping open at the plate
