Together, we will create a long-form sound installation that expresses the essence of “sanctuary” – where sanctuary can be found, how it sounds, and what it feels like.
The final work will be presented in the Schwarzman Centre Black Box, as an accompaniment to Edmund de Waal’s another hour.

On Saturday 28 November, writer and artist Edmund de Waal will be curating a very special Day of Psalms as part of the Schwarzman Centre in Oxford’s Cultural Programme, and Cities and Memory artists are invited to take part in a special commission as part of the event.
Hope you have had a lovely #SummerSunday!
This song was originally written for the @citiesandmemory.bsky.social Autumn Project. Using a field recording from Italy, it depicts early morning in a foreign city with the quiet sounds of people living lives so similar-yet-different from your own.
“For me music is all about the combination of a story being told and the emotions that are invoked, like in opera or music theatre, I think I need a story to hang the music on.”

Happy to be part of @citiesandmemory.bsky.social Spring Project. Great collection of filed recordings and reimagined works from them. Here's a link to my piece map.citiesandmemory.com/maps/point/3... original recording of St Sulpice in #paris#newmusic#experimentalmusic#fieldrecordings
Reminded this morning of the music we made for @citiesandmemory.bsky.social - what is essentially a dub techno track (+ versions) built entirely from recordings of the glass factory in Murano, Venice.
It's a bit of an outlier in our catalogue!

My collab with yamo aka Momose Yasunaga for @citiesandmemory.bsky.social
yamo: "I created a collage of sounds-incorporating the exotic resonance of bells and the lyrical whisper of the wind as it drifts through narrow alleyways."

I'm happy to contribute a new piece to the @citiesandmemory.bsky.social Spring 2026 Project. "the road was there" is a piece for electric guitar and electronics that blends drone, ambient, and field recording sounds. Give it a listen below!

How did fence posts end up being played at the Olympics opening ceremony? @dameevelynglennie.bsky.social talks us through the story of the wonderful aluphone, and how it encourages us to think of sound as a food diet.
