I do not understand when people praise Francis Ford Coppola is Dracula as a faithful adaptation of the novel. The moment your version of Dracula is in any way a romantic or sympathetic figure, you've completely missed the point of the original character.

I enjoy elements: I love the vintage, in-camera FX style of the film, and the visuals are stunning, but I find Gary Oldman's Dracula to be neither scary or sexy, just weird. It's nice to see more characters from the book make it to the screen (Quincy!), but the spirit of the novel isn't there.

The movie revolves around a romantic connection between Dracula and Mina, which just in the book at all. Do you know how Dracula gets Mina to drink his blood in the book? He threatens to smash the skull of her father while she watches if she doesn't. Yeah, really romantic.

The thing I've never understood about conspiracy theories that involve hidden messages like acronyms and the numeric codes concealing huge secrets, is why are they even dropping these clues if they don't want anyone to know? Is everyone involved in these conspiracies the Riddler?

Miss Marple. Ms Marvel. Their names sounds similar, but imagine if you swapped them around. Kamela Khan solving mysteries and Miss Jane Marple fighting villains with the Avengers.

Just once in #DoctorWho I'd love to have the #TARDIS land somewhere and have the Doctor first think they're on Skaro, then speculate about a couple of other alien planets they might be on. Then the companion spots a sign and points out that they are actually in a gravel quarry.

I give out comic books in addition to food treats. I always get adults seeing something on the table and asking if they can have one. I tell ‘em “you’re an adult. You know the rules to this. “Ya gotta say ‘tricker treat’!”

Let them have the damn candy

I understand high school and college football seasons being when they are because of the school schedule, but why not move NFL games to the opposite time of year? Then you could have football all year round! I mean, if you are the NFL, screw baseball season.

In the Time of the Doctor, he explains that he's reached his regeneration limit and we only get to Peter Capaldi because the Time Lords give the doctor a new regeneration cycle. So how did the doctor start regenerating after being shot in The Impossible Astronaut? #DoctorWho

The cast: • Dana Gould • Patton Oswalt • Paul F. Tompkins • Laraine Newman • Janet Varney • Jonah Ray • Kimmie Robertson • David Dastmalchian • Bobcat Goldthwait • Aaron LaPlante • Heather Le Roy

"Well, I am asking for this loan because I want to open a restaurant. No I don't have any experience in the restaurant industry but I have an idea that can't miss. It's a King Kong theme restaurant serving French food called 'T'was Beauty Killed the Bistro.'"

I see cosplays all the time that make me think there should be a term for when you see somebody do a really beautiful job of executing a costume that you think is inherently a crappy design. Like, you don't like the source material but they've done a beautiful job of making a costume out of it.

Just once in a movie I'd love to see the explorers go into an ancient temple and when they trigger a complex hidden mechanism it begins to move and then immediately jams because it is an ancient complex mechanism that has been sitting without maintenance for hundreds of years.

An odd observation about my career in comics: I've been lucky enough to work on a lot of great IP, but it's almost always through somebody else's style filter. Case in point: I love Batman and I've gotten to draw him a lot. All the art here is by me but none are *my* Batman. (1/3)

But it's always the version from a TV show - animated or live action and that predetermines a certain look and style. I've yet to really do my own version. People ask what my own version would look like. There's no one answer to that - it would depend on the project and the story. (2/3)

But I'd love to find more opportunities to bring more of my own voice to these characters I love. Yes, I've tried to do original creator owned properties many times in my career. Sadly most of these projects were not widely seen assuming they ever were completed in saw print at all! (3/3)

I'm of a generation that means I should have a deep rooted love for #Goonies like so many fans of my age. Don't get me wrong. I like it just fine. But for me that movie isn't Goonies. It's #MonsterSquad.

It's always fun when watching supernatural horror movies where the end of the movie features survivors of crazy paranormal events to imagine how their interviews with authorities must have gone the following day.

I love fans and I'm all for fan-made media, but watching fan made videos featuring Star Trek spaceships set to music from the movies really makes you appreciate the quality of composition, lighting and editing found in the professional works.

The weather channel app on my phone is confused. It says it is currently 102° with a high today of 101°. I'm willing to avoid the contradiction and just declare it "too damn hot."

I'm seeing a trailer for this new show on Hulu called #Phony and it shows two actresses side by side on the screen to make it clear to the viewer that they're not the same person, and I'm looking at it like "they look the same to me."

You know, as we're fully a quarter of the way through the 21st century, I am remembering when it was the 20th century and I imagined living this far into "the future" would be a lot more fun.

#DoctorWho fans: Am I the only one who ever wanted to edit the ending of The Pandorica Opens when showing it to a first time viewer so rather than following up the cataclysmic ending with the "To be continued" caption it says "The End" and try to convince them it's how the whole series ended?

It always gets me when someone defending generative AI says "it's just going to get better." Yes, that's part of the problem. It's going to get easier and easier to create something indistinguishable from real photos and video, or the work of an actual artist. That's one of the problems.

Normally when government does something wrong it's reasonable to ask "is it corruption or incompetence?" With the Trump administration it's both. The only reason they're not doing more grift and damage is how incompetent they are.

As many GOP attempt to distance themselves from Trump, don't forget that he's the same person he's always been, doing the same things he always has. And they didn't learn anything new about any of this. The only thing that has changed is they feel their own power under threat. Vote them all out.

I really hate living in this time of the rise of AI. Not just because of what it is doing to my field and everyone else in the creative arts, but the impact it's having to the environment, our economy, and society overall. I'm already thinking if things in terms of "The 'before' times..."

I just saw an advertisement for the new #HarryPotter series. It's sad. So much talent poured into a project that I will never ever watch as long as it might put a penny into the pockets of the anti-trans activism of JK Rowling.

I would love to get to draw a comic that let me just revisit all of my favorite characters from my formative comics reading years. That's why I have often cited a new version of #Batman the Brave and the Bold as a dream project. I suppose #SpiderMan Marvel Team-Up would be the Marvel equivalent?
