As much as I think this is entirely unnecessary and probably a bad idea, I am taking a certain perverse joy in trying to figure out how you would even attempt to fill Duvall and Jones' tremendous boots. Maybe Ethan Hawke for Gus and Michael Shannon for Call? deadline.com/2026/09/lone...

deadline.comNetflix Orders 'Lonesome Dove' Series From Zoe Kazan & Jeb StuartNetflix has ordered 'Lonesome Dove,' a drama series from 'East Of Eden' co-showrunners Zoe Kazan & Jeb Stuart based on Larry McMurtry's Western novel.

Followup: They used a good little chunk of my interview in the "A Storm of Carnage: Creating The Furious" doc, if you explore the special features after watching the feature.

Get em while they're hot! lionsgatelimited.com/collections/... I sat down for a long filmed interview on the cutting of the film, so I'm as curious as anyone to check out the bonus features to see what they included. Also featuring an essay by the fantastic @priscillapage.bsky.social

LA, come see one of the great seduction scenes in all of cinema, on the big screen. Cut by one of the best to ever do it; the lady who gave us the Lawrence of Arabia Match Cut; Anne V. Coates. Rarely have two actors smouldered like Clooney and J.Lo do here. www.academymuseum.org/programs/det...

I bought a t-shirt with Melon Kuma on it when I was in Hokkaido several years ago and it's started more than a few conversations, as people that recognize him are delighted.

Mondo Mascots@mondomascots.bsky.social

Melon Kuma, a terrifying hybrid of a melon and a bear, is a character from Yubari City in Hokkaido, and was inspired by wild brown bears destroying melon patches in the area. He visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building today.

One of the little sung perks about when you are working on a studio lot is commissary breakfasts. It's like having a fairly decent diner a 5 min walk from where you're working.

Hey I helped crowdfund this 4 years ago! Can't wait to watch the finished cut!

Our film is now available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video (in HD) and Apple TV/iTunes (in HD and 4K).

You can directly map fall off on my Letterboxd activity to busy times at work, where I’m just watching one unreleased movie repeatedly; likely more than any one person ever will again.

Started S5 of For All Mankind last night, and so glad to be back in that world. The slow boil of each season progressively becoming more sci-fi has brought us to a proto-The Expanse world by the 2010s. Really excellent storytelling, scratching that DS9-era Trek itch that modern Trek has left behind.

And here's the trailer! The Furious is coming for your eyeballs in 66 days....

This new martial arts thriller starring Xie Miao and Joe Taslim looks insane. Watch the exclusive trailer for The Furious:

After rewatching the extended LOTR in theaters for the 25th anniversary, I decided to revisit the novels for the first time since middle school. My thoughts around Chapter 8...

Without fail, though I rarely agree with his rankings or even the picks, these countdowns are one of my favorite pieces of editing of the year, and reminds me why movies are essential.

With Sophia out here recruiting via text for WB (who it seems are now based out of Indonesia?), I think it’s safe to say, the film industry is on it’s way back up guys.

Do we think that final freeze and push-in from the S2 finale of Severance last night was done optically when they printed the 35mm film-out, or created digitally and then filmed out from the online edit with freeze and zoom baked in?

My feature film editorial hot take: No one who knows anything about Post should think that The Brutalist Respeecher "controversy" is awards disqualifying. We steal consonants & vowels from different reads all the time. 2 mins of augmented Hungarian does not invalidate the rest of the performance.

In PDX visiting my in-laws and our tiny Southern California dachshund does not know what to do with this chilly weather and only 9 hours of daylight. He keeps waking up early, sees that it’s still dark, and reburies himself under the heated blanket.

I just went from walking out my front door and getting in a rideshare to sitting down at my departure gate in 22 mins the night before Thanksgiving. Bob Hope (BUR) forever.

Anyone played with Resolve's Speed Editor peripheral? I'm gonna buy a Studio license before the end of the year, and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $75 for the speed editor as well, or if it's another piece of gear that will sit in my closet, until I inevitably give it away a decade from now.
