How is this even legal? Black-out windows are not allowed in Michigan, license plates are required, and is that a camera or a gun mounted on the roof? I have a feeling ICE is in the house in Jackson.

Michigan-relevant because of Dearborn and Hamtramck — large immigrant communities living inside a state whose municipal ALPR network was, by then, knitted together at the county and regional level. Macomb agencies were among those that appeared in the ICE-access reporting.

Sharing settings include other police, federal partners, and — in default-permissive configurations agencies sometimes don't realize they have on — ICE. National reporting has surfaced Michigan agencies in those logs. Some have audited and adjusted. Most have not audited at all.
