I do things and stuff. I like talking about everything, mainly tea, tech, politics, diabetes, and baseball. Oh, how's your mom?

I have been basically driving the country for the past couple of weeks, and have to say I’m heartened by all the small towns with protests supporting veterans care, snap and social security benefits, and the anti-Trump sentiments.

I’m so confused at how America’s wonderful obsession with police and legal drama shows has somehow resulted in near zero recognition of what due process means. 🤔

It’s crazy to me how none of these air traffic control issues happened until the Tangerine Demagogue claimed office again. And yet, he and his followers continue to blame anyone but themselves. 🙄

Basic question … Critical thinking skills are one of the most sought after sets of skills by employers today. With the death of education in America today, how long until emphatic employing Americans because they lack the skills needed to compete?

Okay … the movie Bushwick is prescient. Crazy. Three movies to watch right now: Civil War, Bushwick, and the original Red Dawn with Patrick Swayze.

•••••••NOW••••••• A “moment of moral urgency” is upon us. History is happening NOW, on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Sen. Cory Booker and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries have devoted this day to a live-streamed sit-in, featuring conversations with Americans focused on staunch opposition to the…

I honestly don’t find myself smiling much these days. What with the whole despotic overthrow of democracy and all. But I’ve embarked on a rewatch of Chuck, and I’m reminded of how much fun this show was.

I’ve said this for years, but nobody listens. We need to expand the definition of “arms” under the second amendment to include data. It should be the unmitigated right of the American people to ensure access to the data used by our government to exert control, is properly monitored.

To all the marketers of the world … you know what really gets me going? What makes me want to buy things from you right away? It’s certainly not throwing popups at me suggesting discounts if I let you spam me. STOP IT!

I think it’s fine that we disagree on what good leadership looks like. Were the Bush’s or Reagan, or McCain or whomever good leaders? Was Clinton, Obama or Biden? What bothers me is that we seem unable to agree on what TERRIBLE leadership looks like. And this is where we are now.

Hello World, I am exploring international relocation as an American refugee. I know I don’t have many contacts here on Bsky yet. But, if you’ll have a smart, progressive technologist, do let me know. -Giddy

I think the reality is that the changes inflicted by this administration are happening so quickly that MAGA and Trump loyalists haven’t yet felt the pain. And this is the point. By the time the real pain sets in, there won’t be room for subversive action or civil dissent.

Trump’s Tariffs would be held illegal if the Constitution’s separation of powers were taken seriously. Hell, they’d be struck down by Trump’s Supreme Court if its Major Questions Doctrine and its commitments to original meaning and textualism were consistently applied to Article I and IEEPA. 🔥

Three Wins Today (April 5, 2025) 1. Biden appointee judge Angel Kelley rules that the NIH is permanently barred from limiting research funding 2. A new DT EO forces states to get rid of DEI if they want to get federal funds for schools, and New York is the first to say not gonna happen 1/2

My one hope from this tragic time is that we’ll emerge from this last gasp of a dying style of living stronger and better positioned. I hope we end up with a consolidated single-payer health system, redoubled investment in science, technology, the arts, and global good.

The crazy thing about these tariffs is that there’s absolutely no way anyone can claim they’re the fault of liberals, progressives, or democrats. Only the Republican Party is supporting this garbage, and they KNOW it’s going to destroy the economy - leaving the vulnerable dependent.

America is finding out how the betrayal of a friend or ally is met with deeper retribution than the evil deeds of an enemy. And we sadly deserve it.

Leadership is doubling down, but GOP members are getting nervous about the budget’s extreme unpopularity. You can call your Representative now at 202-224-3121.

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid. So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why. What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?
