The company Kiru Made has been exploiting artists, and (before we knew that) we helped them with a convention shipment, and they’ve ignored the invoice and reminders for six months! Just shitty behavior all around, be sure to avoid them!

like if you consider this beyond a surface level, people wouldn't be buying a thing JUST because it has some unique production tech to it if they didn't like the design/art too, which makes the accusation sound more like a shallow caricature of what an "insecure, greedy artist" would do

also every time someone makes this accusation it's always "oh but I'M not like those other greedy artists I'll share and help you all" and then they offer you the most surface level recommendation (or in this case, a manu that is in fact NOTORIOUS for poor service after getting over-recommended)

I don't think I could ever bring myself to make vids about my work on tiktok for a lot of reasons but the increasing amount of people declaring what makes a piece of clothing "high quality" or not based off of like...no information is a big one LOL

like to start with, what constitutes "high quality" is comprised of a ton of different metrics that mean different things to each person, and can't even be applied evenly across different fabrics ex. to a lot of people quality means the fabric is durable in the wash, but that doesn't apply to silk

my partner has humorously pointed out to me that when I'm stressed I tend to want to make fun little syrups for my home cafe drinks and I'm afraid he's right because I just looked into the fridge and had to push 6 different jars of cheong out of the way to reach the eggs

in my defense I've concluded that cheong is the ultimate treatment for making syrups that preserve the taste of fruit best and I will probably never make a cooked strawberry syrup again because I don't like how the heat morphs the flavor

I've avoided talking about the exact scale of how boned I got by things like tariffs, ever-changing import compliances, etc. because I don't like to sound as if I'm begging for pity sales, but I also want ppl to understand that even if someone looks rly successful, maybe we're just masking well
