The trick here is that farmers aren't regular voters. Most farmers are professionals like her who know on which side their bread is buttered. They're wealthy landowners with perpetual cash flow issues. Even if Trump threatens the latter, Dems threaten the former, & the former is their identity.

Amazon Sports White Guys In Touch With The Kids meeting: "We have the best studio crew, tech, and most of the top announcers. I need to make my bonus by showing I changed things. Ideas?" "Kyle Lowry doing the Chris Farley Show as an interview segment, sir!" “Let’s operationalize this.” #nbasky

It's worth marking the start of the new season by noting that Inside the NBA used to be a watchable show on another network. Those facts are not related. It was also a watchable show that didn't include Shaq. Those facts are absolutely totally fucking related. #nbasky

Schools are being taken to task for allowing bullying and you have parents saying the stupidest things like, “don’t blame the schools, blame the parents” Yes, parents are a huge problem but some of those kids do not have safe spaces at home. Schools must do better.

Anyone who has wondered, "Why exactly would I need surround speakers that could, if adjusted properly, block out the center channel?" has never had to sit and listen to Noah Eagle blather over play after fucking play. #nbasky

Plus the whole "Evil has existed during all human history and it's not just one guy, or even 100K guys" thing.

Everyone thinks the world will magically get better after the midterms when shit is actually going to hit the fan This isn’t a rebuke of Trump, it’s a rebuke of the Epstein class and they don’t give power easily

If there's an America in 2126 it's going to be the Coalition of homeowners associations, not the United States

i have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that eventually the boomer property tax revolt will foment a reverse-polarity version in young people ("well then why should i keep paying Social Security taxes?") and the entire concept of cooperative public goods disintegrates

Yes there is a U.S. literacy crisis, but the class divide of the future will NOT be literacy. It will be possession of capital. The oligarchs are locking in a hierarchy that will ensure that the rich will have power no matter how stupid they are, and the poor will be powerless no matter how clever.

Sure the poll numbers are great, but Cleetus (or Caitlin) voting on the price of gas isn't any different than voting on the price of eggs. Most Americans don't give a fuck about human rights. Until they do, we will always have to deal with this shit.

Build a world where Shane Gillis, or more properly, people who think Shane Gillis is funny, will not be invited to holidays by their families. If we had already done that, we wouldn't be in a lot of the fucking messes we are in. But **your** uncle/neighbor/etc. is basically a nice guy, right?

The fact that Roberts is in Maine shouldn't surprise anyone. He's essentially a progressive there. Old, but not bloodthirsty. When the mic is on.

Chad Finn@chadfinn.bsky.social

Actually didn't know that he'd been cosplaying here as humble Maine fishing village guy. That Times piece might lead to more protesters.

"People" know fuck-all about economics and love racism. It's why they've always seen him as "people." And vote for him.

Elizabeth Spiers@espiers.bsky.social

Trump does not understand basic economics and I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to wrap their heads around that. Look at this shit:

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

No.

Joe Walsh@walshfreedom.bsky.social

Yes, they need to walk the walk, but when a Trump voter finally sees the light and leaves Trump for good, don’t give em the middle finger. Don’t say “it’s too late.” Welcome them. Welcome them back to truth & decency. This week’s meltdown.👇 socialcontractwithjoewalsh.substack.com/p/when-a-tru...

It will never be presented that way, which is fine, because human rights is the preeminent issue. But right now the entire country is a case study in how White Guy management doesn't work.

We are doomed if we / because we belive they are redeemable. If eggs go up a nickel or they hear Spanish anywhere, they'll be back on their hate train. They won't be part of what saves us.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

Lifelong Texas Republican says data centers are why he’d vote Democrat: “This is the first time in my adult life where there's been an issue that's come up that I feel like is going to directly impact me.” (Again: only when it impacts them personally)

For those who have forgotten the past 40 years: Tax cuts for the rich ...don’t trickle down Boosting military spending ...doesn’t bring peace Slashing regulations ...doesn’t create jobs Folks, we’ve seen this all before.

Lost amid the "growing loneliness epidemic" (epidemics grow because that is what makes them that) and "increasing isolation of modern life" think-piece blather is the essential consideration of "Have you ever met any Americans in 2026? They really are just the fucking worst. Stay home at all costs."

Looks like one of the OG hustle culture techbro disphits found out that, unlike the US legal system, you can't disrupt the salary cap. #developersdevelpersdevelopersdevelopers #nbasky

We voted for racism when eggs went up a quarter. We are not a tough country.

To folks who think caving on things like “Lake America” doesn’t matter in the long run… It does. It invites more such ego-serving It suggests that there’s no push back. It teaches people to expect more of the same. It matters.

The Supreme Court today said the current president had the unilateral authority to tear down the East Wing of the White House and build a monstrous ballroom. That means the next president will have the unilateral authority to rebuild the East Wing and tear down the monstrous ballroom.
