it's so strange how the entire gaming community is focused on GTA6 and Gido Gido: Kaiju Battle Party like they are the only two games in development (which wouldn't be a bad thing either)

I get asked this a lot so as a reminder: if you're new to Bluesky and looking to get your feed up to speed on game dev, do check out my "background radiation" starter pack - it basically adds 150 hand-picked accounts to your follow list from every games discipline & every perspective on game dev.

finally got around to playing reanimal...what an amazing aesthetic horror gem (i did single player mode). the art, atmosphere, and dark af plot is perfecto. not too challenging either, which is how i like my games

This extraordinary post from Microsoft's head of comms appears to be in reference to an Xbox lay-off narrative by Fox News and others that does not appear to be grounded in reality

and while we process the bad news at gamespot, there is the rare good news with the launch of @respec.net:

Alex Donaldson@apzonerunner.com

Launching a new website about video games today. Meet @respec.net. A sibling to @rpgsite.net, a spiritual successor to VG247, & a brother from another mother to other 100% independent UK media brands like @videogameschronicle.com and @trueachievements.com. www.respec.net/feature/87-w...

I created a new starter pack to highlight some cool youtube gaming channels (reviews, previews, trailers, talk, the biz, etc). You can find all types of shows here: go.bsky.app/64HpufU. See tags in 🧵 and let me know who else I should add! #indiedevs #indiegames #youtubegaming

SO! We have ~*news*~ I officially have a job again! My old one! After a great run elsewhere I have returned to the place that started it all to deliver some championship reporting for Kotaku making me the LeBron James of Video Game Journalism which is fitting considering I live in Akron, lol

Powerpuff girls meets godzilla 4v4 style. Sound compelling? Im promoting a chaotic party game that lets your souped-up kaiju squad fuse into one single colossal creature u collectely control. U then destroy a cozy cartoonish city, rivals, and their bases. Is this something you'd beta test?

yo, games media friendos looking for work. work ⬇️

IGN is hiring! We're looking for a US-based news editor working West Coast hours. They will report into me (hello, I'm the director of news at IGN!), and get to do all sorts of cool stuff about video games and entertainment. Lots more at the link! www.ziffdavis.com/careers/jobs...

21,000+ games were released on steam last year. that's just steam if you're a reporter, how many games are you pitched on any given day? im curious if this industry growth is reflected in your in-box or if a lot of devs dont market their games to press
