If we're going down the route of AI Agents like Mule - we need to make sure that those agents are constrained to work in your best interests only The agents shouldn't quietly spend money - where one vendor pays Meta to prefer their more expensive option over the same, but cheaper option elsewhere

Character.AI filing for bankruptcy should be a warning to investors. Just because you are doing AI tech doesn't eliminate all the normal 'legitimate business ' requirements. Many more bankruptcies to come. #AIbubble

Not a good time for software developers called Al. Time to go back to using Albert, Alfred, Alvin, or whatever is on your birth cert.

I doubt that most the investors rushing to build datacenters understand that each DC has a full power generation system for backup power. There isn't enough capacity to build enough industrial generators for the power they claim they need. #AI #infrastructure #datacenter #scaleout

Oracle announced datacenter delays are because of power. Expect more and more delays blamed on power and networking issues. Only the vendors who build huge footprints every quarter- will have the supply chain and project management skills to get close to on-time delivery

The age of the filing cabinet will make a return. Retro printers are going to surge again. We are going to need to keep paper copies of the current state of all our online financial and medical accounts - before the surge of AI bots in those institutions delete everything.

There have been a few airports recently reporting exactly 200kt winds in their METAR . 200 doesn't seem to be a good data point - is some metar generation software using 200 as a default value to signal an error ? If so - it shouldn't escape into the wild.

With almost all of the GDP growth in the US coming from the AI titans ; they have a major problem. None of their customers are growing at a level that supports the future revenue promises for the AI titans. The math simply doesn't compute.

The current valuation models for AI infrastructure are mathematically insolvent - unless AI can make all these companies grow their businesses significantly. There is no evidence of this The "reallocate margin to AI spend" theory doesn't grow enough for AI titans to hit their numbers. #AIbubble

If the AI Datacenter builders get all their land, and water, and power and backup generators, and redundant power distribution equipment, and fire suppression systems, and network equipment, and fibre cabling - they might think they are done Pretty sure they won't have enough redundant Internet

Just because they can get 100G to the carriers local POP, doesn't meant that the carrier has magically got 100G spare on their backbone. Unless every fiber carrier is doing massive capex investment to every pop now! -> The datacenters are going to come up short. It will be another cause for delay

If you are a CFO, and wondering about what to do about your AI budgets - I can guarantee you that sitting back and waiting a year is a good strategy. AI is changing so fast - that anything you try now will likely be undone and then redone several times in a year.

Can't have enough anti-virus coverage ; my email this morning is full of renewal notices. Four installs of McAfee per machine should be enough ? shouldn't it ?

Microsoft's new bitnet demo hallucinates badly. Here it thinks that Laminar Research's X-Plane flight simulator is some hybrid of a Microsoft and Open Source project. Hey Microsoft - also please stop naming your things after stuff the rest of the world created.

Hey Canonical, if i have to install the snap version of a library, and the native version of the same library for every other app, then snap is a resource waste, not an enabler.

One of the reasons why AI code slop is so bad, is we are using agile methods. AI coding needs a resurrection of waterfall as the project management strategy

The wildfire evacuation color scheme will get people killed - Some regions use 'red' for prepare, and 'green' to signal "go, evacuate now", and other places are 'green' for prepare, and 'red' for "evacuate now". We might as well have different hydrant connectors - if we're going to ignore history

The 'we spotted something about your account' emails should come with a link that says "yes it was me" or "no it wasn't me" - so that the sender can gather stats to understand how useful those emails are. Yes Netflix - the new device is a known device in the account - but you won't ever know.

Instrument flight training is important so you can avoid the floating mountains in the clouds. Mt. Rainier floating high in the sky. #flighttraining #pnw #seattle #flying #aviation

Datacenters aren't new. As soon as you build it, it becomes a legacy facility that you have to pay money to maintain. If investing in Datacenters made any sense, then all the existing datacenter providers would be rolling in cash. They aren't. Don't get pulled into the hype.

Congratulations to Spain on the win. Disappointed in the dirty play from Argentina. Messi should have gone out on the back of a good clean game, instead they delivered that mess.

@apple.com just sent me a security alert that a piece of software was downloaded to a device I haven't used. Would have been helpful to mention something about the device ? Phone? Ipad ? Mac ? Completely useless customer interaction, and continuing the pretense of security theater. #apple

How many CEOs have realized that zero AI agents have read, and follow the employee handbook? The "that action doesn't align with company values, it was a rogue employee" excuse needs to be worked on by legal soonest. Discovery will include your AI prompts, which will lay everything bare. #ai

Turkey have one move. Play up the left side. It hasn't worked all game. When they try the right hand side, they do better. Yet they keep going back to the left. WHY? #worldcup2026 #Australia #turkey

There appears to have been a mixup in Bosnia and Herzegovina - they sent the Olympic Dive team instead of their soccer team. #worldcup2026 #canada #bosnia

20yr old Dell PowerEdge 1950 decides to shed a SAS drive this morning in the raid array. Placed an ebay order. Seller lives nearby - and messaged me with the option to drop it off at my house. New drive goes in, array rebuilds. Sometimes the power of what we've built on the Internet just amazes me

Which global regulator is going to be the first to give Microsoft the news that they simply can't let Windows 10 systems go unpatched through this deluge of trivial zero-day full system exploits. This has to be a significant USA National Security risk #Microsoft #MSRC #EUCommission #CISA #NCSC

It's crazy that I bought an 18TB Seagate NAS drive in April 2024 for $289, and the exact same drive today is $579. In the Amazon price history it was ~$300 at the start of the year At this rate - my collection of retired drives are actively growing in value. Someone tell my wife that I'm a genius

I tried VIGOLIUM (www.vigolium.com); and pointed at some of my websites. 100% of 12 HIGH findings were wildly inaccurate false positives. It was very confident in its findings. It injected a number, and assumed a reflection flaw when it saw it again in the output, when the number was a valid result.

Catch critical vulnerabilities that traditional scanners and AI code review tools miss, with validated proof your team can act on.

It's now found a High Severity vulnerability "BFLA: Unauthenticated Access to Privileged Endpoint", which sounds serious - until you look at the details - and the page it's accessing has no authentication Still waiting for something actually useful. #vigolium #falsepositive #security #dast

We're going to need training certification for AI systems. 'This engine has been trained only on published medical material, and did not get trained on Facebook _medical_ data'. Even if it uses extra info to get an answer, it need to be able to differentiate the sources

There is zero chance that the DC buildouts for all the AI investments will happen on schedule. After the 4 walls, the order backlogs for power distribution and cooling equipment will stretch for years Watch for delayed build outs for any new entrants to this market #datacenter #scaleout #AI

Existing large scale DC builders will have the mature supply chains for the industrial scale power distribution - and the skills and knowledge to design it to be fault tolerant. The rush of new entrants will make all the newbie mistakes and have major stability problems, and be v.expensive to fix

Spec Driven Development will be touted as the answer for poor AI code. Update the base spec, rerun the code generation process and rebuild the entire code base every time. The scale of the waste is mind boggling.
