fwiw, the "cost of living" has never been lowered it only was once lower, taxes can be lowered, but not prices, once they're up they're up.

Phil Lewis@phillewis.bsky.social

Detroiter Nicole Williams when asked if Abdul El-Sayed is ‘a bit too left wing to win in Michigan’: “At this point what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have. We're on our way to hell, so at this point: socialist, socialize, social, dont matter to me, lower my cost of living!”

You Can See Everything should have been a 3 pt doc. Nothing of significance that you cared about before you saw the film happened in the film. My main takeaway is that fictional dramatizations of true stories should be more careful to not chase storylines. Looking at you Shakespeare.

It's, uh, not the best headline, but I don't feel like dunking on a story of a woman who escaped a cult and an abusive husband. Anyway, fuck Ben Zobrist.

The thing about rural voters is they are staunch Republican Independent Conservatives who don't need help but they would really like if the Government can find ways to assist them the second things get rough. Just so long as it isn't Government Assistance, especially a Democratic Government.

Democrats in Iowa are buoyed by Rob Sand, the state auditor whose campaign for governor is built on explicit overtures to independents and disaffected Republicans. https://to.pbs.org/4hVSN2n

pretty wild that the guy I saw open for H Jon Benjamin at Schubas in the late 2000s made an Elizabeth Holmes doc that is as difficult a ticket to find as The Odyssey

Can we stop using the term "blitz"? Even in football. It's a direct reference to Nazi tank invasions.

Current state of the WH press secretary is Fox & Friends's Ainsley Earhardt gently asking Katie Zacharia if she'd like to clean up anything she said last night on Fox's Hannity. The degree of "not ready for primetime" here can't be overstated.

How is 'Lindsay Graham was murdered by Putin' not a conspiracy theory yet?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

VARNEY: Why does President Trump seems to lean toward Putin? SEN. HAGERTY: I wouldn't say that he's leaning towards Putin VARNEY: If Putin can sell that diesel, he's gonna bring in billions of dollars which he will use perhaps to help Iran HAGERTY: It's a multivariable calculation

Obviously they would call us Communists for saying this, but the important bit of misinformation pertains to pets. Cats are way cheaper than Dogs. Don't lump Cats and Dogs together as Pets when we know the real issue is Dogs, and Dogs alone.

Really enjoyed this shallow dive into the history of Ro "Reitano's desire to recreate his father, a doctor, out of software as a hologram, inspired him to co-found the company. In September 2018, the company expanded its treatment to hair loss, cold sores, and premature ejaculation."

I was looking for a movie to watch and came across a 1986 Tom Hanks movie that I definitely saw, and have no reason why I would have watched as kid. When I looked to see who else was in it I noticed the great Hector Elizondo was billed in the top 4, and then I noticed the dir was Garry Marshall...

This truly one of the best Chicago Architecture movies I've ever seen on film. Shot in the fall of '85 (Da Bears). This movie doesn't make a ton of sense and gets a little dark, but it's actually a bit of time capsule fun. And standout performance from my guy John Kapelos

So Hegseth is clearly doing a "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" because he knows the second there's a whiff of impeachment post midterms Trump will force him back to the Fox couch. Dude will be lucky to make it to Christmas.

The White House accord on AI that was signed by all the big tech oligarchs today misspells United States as “Unites States.”

Imagine the fawning adulation if Mandami did this. Yet, most Americans have no idea who Brandon Johnson even is. I saw op eds about the life changing importance of Mandami's free opera tickets. Forcing a company to sell its ICE Air branch to conduct business with a major city...bupkis.

Garry had secretly included in his contract stipulating that he has the Right to Cast Hector Elizondo in any movie he ever makes. So let's quit talking DeNiro v DiCaprio/Scorcese and give the flowers to Marshall/Elizondo

Also, if you're a Chicago person, this is a Chicago Movie. The opening credit city montage is pretty incredible. Even a "No Lights at Wrigley Field" bit.

So that got me asking how many Garry Marshall movies was Hector Elizondo in? Because it really dawned on me that Hector seems to be a perfect character actor for a Garry Marshall movie. Well it turns out, Hector has been in ALL 18 feature films directed by Marshall. Apparently they met during a

regular basketball game at Garry's house. Hector inadvertently threw a ball at Garry's face, caused a scene which concluded with Garry basically saying 'kid you can't ball, but I gotta have you in every picture I make so long as the two of us shall live'. This was legally cemented by a clause

I’ve said it before, until AI can bend Time so I can listen to a 5 minute song in 2 minutes, i won’t be singing praises

I've worked on 3 DOJ investigations into Medicare/Medicaid Fraud over the past year and have found zero instances of malfeasance. The majority of the issues stem from how complicated the system has become, but administrators spend a lot of time correcting these mistakes. It's not fraud.

I'm an attorney and have worked on multiple DOJ investigations into healthcare fraud recently and I can confidently say there is not a fraud, waste and abuse issue in the healthcare system. At least not based on the investigations. This is another talking point the media fell for.

John C. Calhoun wasn't a conservative; he was a radical. Stephen Miller isn't a conservative; he's a radical. "Tradition" isn't a real thing that once existed and we can go back to, or something worth conserving, but an imaginary place that they'll destroy the current world to create.
