The demo for my new game Orebital Dynamics is live! \o/ - Light puzzling + incremental progression - Tidy up grids of snake-like drills - Mine resources, buy upgrades, and complete challenges #WishlistWednesday #gamedev #indiegame #incremental #solodev #MadeWithUnity

This is possibly the most dwarf fortress thing of all, but I've doomed my fortress *in the tutorial*. Turns out "CANCEL MINING" is locked behind an arbitrary stage of tutorial completion 😂

This is a composite image of a planetary system that's still growing. This is what the Solar System looked like when the planets were being born.

SUSHI BEN IS OUT NOW! 🎉🎉🎉 I've been working on this since 2016 yay! My team has been working on this since 2021 yay! Plz try it out, its cheaper than toro nigiri tysm im so sleepy going to bed now.

Ruptured an eardrum this weekend and the wildest thing isn't that I hear less, it's the noise floor on that ear has raised drastically. So I end up having to concentrate more to pick out sounds. As someone with ADHD already, those facilities don't need taxed any more than they already are 😬

Incredibly frustrating thing about not being able to find work is this general feeling pressure pushing me out of my vocation and the voice in my mind saying "you're just a hobbyist if you can't find work in a professional capacity again". Each year I'm unemployed the pressure increases.

So like maybe some day I can get paid to talk to the computer some more. If you wanna hire me, I do gamedev with Unreal or Godot or just plain ol programming with C++ and Python. I also love learning new things, on the side I'm currently reverse engineering the heck out of Tetris with Ghidra

It's kind of refreshing because this is the first side project I've had that I can't directly try to monetize so my brain just has to accept that it's for funsies. Blocks go beep boop, decompiler vomits oodles of if-else spaghetti that I get to detangle. It's the perfect detective game.

I legit think ‘being annoyed’ is a deeply undertheorized form of pleasure

Over the years I've slid from: * I want to do software engineering on an impactful product * I want to do software engineering at an impactful org * I want to get paid to do software engineering * I want to do software engineering

How did Atomfall slip under my radar? It's about the perfect size game for me with some great difficulty adjustments (although even on the easiest mode, it's easy to die if you let things get out of hand...)
