This month marks my ten year anniversary as a professional #Tester. With this comes a new instalment of #XYearsInTesting: www.cassandrahl.com/blog/10-year... I still feel very lucky to have discovered #SoftwareTesting and hope to continue working and growing in this area for many years to come.

cassandrahl.com10 Years in Testing: Then and Now - Cassandra HLWow, ten years in testing.  It feels both correct and surreal.  A lot of things have happened over the last decade, and reading back over the old X Years in Testing posts is really interesting.  So wh...

My #MoTaCon / #TestBash talk on how to make your work and achievements more visible is now available to watch online for attendees and MoT Pro users: www.ministryoftesting.com/testbash-ses... You'll also find a the slides and #BragBoard templates in the resources. #Speaking #Visibility

Ever get confused about what exactly is meant when people talk about #UnitTests, #IntegrationTests, #RegressionTests, and #SmokeTests? I wrote a little something about them to, hopefully, explain the differences and overlap: www.cassandrahl.com/blog/on-unit... #Quality #Testing #SoftwareTesting

cassandrahl.comOn Unit / Integration / Regression Tests and Terminology - Cassandra HLThis post is inspired by several conversations I’ve had over the years, as well as my own musings about testing targets, testing intentions, and terminology.  I’ve noticed that there’s often confusion...

Have you every wondered how your colleagues find such interesting #bugs, or how you can do the same? Let me introduce you to CRAIC SOURCERERS - a mnemonic for how to test like a #tester. It's not extensive, but hopefully helpful. www.cassandrahl.com/blog/craic-s... #SoftwareTesting #Testing #QA

cassandrahl.comCRAIC SOURCERERS: How to Test Like a Tester - Cassandra HLYes, you read that right.  CRAIC SOURCERERS.  As in, “what’s the craic”?  It’s a mnemonic I came up with while trying to think of ways to help people test like a tester – like this tester, at least.  ...

The people we're dealing with right now don't actually want us gone completely. You can't be at the top of a pyramid unless there are people below you. What they want is to reestablish structures that keep us controlled. They want to overtly give themselves all of the advantages.

In my world, “the talk” is what Black parents have w/our kids, about how to survive an encounter w/police who see them as a threat because of our skin color. Latino families have their talk, w/kids even younger, about ICE who see them as criminals: “If we disappear…” Different fear. Same America.

I've found myself very torn lately, and this post has spoken to me. I don't know how to respond to the state of the world right now. What does ethical living even look like anymore? How can one resist without burning (out)? How public should it be? How much is (not) enough? 😓

This post is unavailable.

So many great people I know are writing or have written books. I wish I had the mental capacity / wiring to read them 😓 I've always struggled with books and prefer articles... Even though chapters are like a collection of articles... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blogged: the paradox of being a decent person I feel that indecent people are growing in number, yet I don’t know what we can do about that without also descending into the realm of indecency. This creates a paradox if you care about being (or being perceived as) a decent person.

What (free) tools/services can I use to compare salary benchmarks for a software developer role across different countries?

Painted another version of my skull piece, this time focusing more on details and texture over blocking limited shades. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. And glad I had the confidence to do it on a gessoed piece of cardboard this time lol #Skull #Painting #BlackAndWhite #AcrylicPainting

Meta has quietly removed major sections of its hate speech policy protecting LGBTQ people, people of color, women, immigrants, and other marginalized groups. Today’s alarming policy changes will allow anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, and cease to protect LGBTQ users from being targeted with such attacks

we should be concerned about the impacts of social media on kids and teens, but i don’t think we’re worried nearly enough about what it’s doing to middle aged people and seniors
