Republicans are going to make taxpayers pay for Trump’s ballroom. All Trump’s claims over 16 months that “donors” were going to pay for it was always a lie and just another con. You will pay for it.

Dear Republican Members of Congress, If the President’s response to the shocking security breach involving the use of a commercial messaging app to discuss classified military plans by his amateur-hour administration members doesn’t open your eyes to what you have enabled, please resign immediately.

Dear Trump supporters, is having to admit you were wrong worse than standing idly by while he turns the U.S. into an authoritarian state and isolates us from every one of our allies, while cozying up to Russia? We will forgive the first, but not the second.

Yesterday’s embarrassing display by Trump and Vance in the Oval Office was planned. It would have one of two results. Zelenskyy would cave, or it would give them a “reason” to side with Russia which is what they want to do in the first place.

Trump and Putin plan to carve up the world for their own profit. In turn, Trump will reduce our nations ability to detect Russian threats because he’s such a “great deal maker.” When we let down our guard, Putin will pounce.

My father’s parents emigrated to the US from Ukraine. I’m can’t pretend to be closely connected to those roots. But I am thankful for our support of Ukraine, and disgusted by what is happening now. DJT rewriting history for his minions to pursue his own agenda. Will any ally ever trust us again?

"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people.” I’ve had my differences with Justin Trudeau, for sure, but he rose to the occasion here.

If all of the government agencies who oversee and allocate resources, supervise standards, and provide resources in times of trouble are eliminated, how long before the poor states begin attacking the rich states? Besides being an ignorant policy, it’s also a recipe for civil war.

It’s amazing how MAGA can twist civility into servitude.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin says Obama is "kissing the ring" with Trump at Carter's funeral because "Trump is the most popular man in the world, and probably the most popular man in our lifetime around the world. And everybody recognizes that now."

Watching the funeral I have been struck by two things. First, Jason Carter paid an extraordinary heartfelt tribute to his grandfather. Second, during the humorous stories Jason told, while everyone laughed, DJT showed no hint of humanity. These next 4 years will be long.

Not a perfect man. Not a perfect president. But such a better man and better president than either Elon Musk or Donald Trump that hopefully he's well aware his legacy will outshine theirs forever. He got bills passed no one thought possible, oversaw a historic pandemic recovery, and modeled decency.

As a lifelong Republican may l be one of the first in my party to officially tell these two, to go fuck off somewhere. Feed your egos elsewhere. Be pals, buddies, comrades elsewhere. Our country is too important for your selfish games. The people elected one idiot, it wasn’t buy one get one free.

Ridiculous…

So I’ve had my 1st Black History Month event cancellation because of “DEI concerns,” citing a fear of frivolous suits. Funny thing is, I don’t do DEI, I’m a historian of the Black American experience. A reminder that DEI is just a dog whistle about suppressing history, if you need a reminder.

Reiterating what someone else pointed out: The events of yesterday remind me that the future Administration is trying to “protect” children. Not by enacting reasonable gun control laws, but by potentially rescinding approvals on vaccines… SMH…

Dear MAGA, When the cost of everything sky rockets. When you figure out you’re been duped. That you blindly voted for a fraud. And you realize it was never about what was good for you. And you see he doesn’t need you anymore. I will refuse to feel sorry for you.

Money can’t buy love, but it can buy a few things…

A few days ago I was providing a presentation on Ukraine to an older group of people and asked them if anyone knew about the Holomodor. No one did. Yes, the Russians know, and that’s a part of why they want to subjugate Ukraine.

Ukraine is the breadbasket of the world, producing enough food to feed 400 million people. Trump will hand Ukraine to Putin, and Trump's trade war w/Mexico and Canada could conceivably make us dependent on Putin-controlled Ukraine food production. Especially after he deports migrant ag workers.

I would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Despite recent events and a challenging year health-wise, I am very thankful for the blessings in my life. It’s people who make a difference, not money or possessions, and I am lucky to have a wonderful family and great friends.

The Trump ordeal has made one thing clear. Too many of our checks and balances rely on norms, traditions and the honor code. It works when those elected into power are people of honor and integrity who respect our norms and traditions. Elect a lifelong criminal and it all goes sideways.

This is incredibly disturbing and goes against every rule of war, international law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the very ethic of the military. A disciplined military goes to every length to prevent civilian deaths and having a SecDef who doesn't care is unacceptable.

Trump Defense Nominee Pete Hegseth Doesn’t Want Soldiers Held Accountable for Killing Civilians Pete Hegseth’s comments on civilian casualties reveal alarming disregard for human life

If Musk and Vivek have their way, the government will lose thousands of qualified experts and will be run by the whims of the Orange One. Unless a few Republican senators unite to hold him accountable for his actions going forward, the end of the democratic process in the U.S. is nigh.

So Project 2025 is real and underway, and the Liar-in-chief is going to get away with trying to keep power in 2020 and for refusing to give back 100s of classified documents he had no right to possess.
