Listen, I love Wayne Rooney as much as the next person, but in 2010 Man City approached him and convinced him to hand the transfer request in. I would love to know what they promised him (and how they’d give it him) to join them back then, because it must’ve been significant.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this city thing the past few days and this is my take… If you were absolutely in the gutter, robbed a million quid from a bank and didn’t get caught - you spend the money on sending your kids to the best school in the country and they end up being top surgeons… 1/

And their kids kids will forever benefit from it, despite some people remembering their great grandad robbed a bank. Who cares at that point? Their family will always be at that level now whatever happens. 3/

That’s why I think the only meaningful punishment is expelling them from the league. Otherwise, they got away with it.

Then the police find you. You lose all the money and your house etc… but what about their kids education? Tou can’t take that away from them can you? It’s irreversibly changed their fortunes and life for the better… 2/

I was just thinking… to ensure city get a point deduction that would guarantee they’re relegated, you’d have to deduct the maximum they could win. 38 (matches) multiplied by 3 (points)? 114. Funny, that.

Crazy that this is the first time France have changed time zone in the entire World Cup (compared to Spain changing 5 times!). They’ve only actually travelled ~2400 miles between venues so far as well, compared to Spain’s ~6400 😯

I really hope the Premier League announce the point deduction and relegation etc tomorrow morning so no one knows if it’s real or not
