Words can buzz and hum like insects in the air. I'm not actually a cat, but that's a secret.

Ok, a new pinned post for beginners: If I don't already follow you - and I'm pretty selective about who I follow - trying to start a "debate" with me will see you immediately blocked. My social media. My rules.

You know what would seriously "disrupt" our political landscape? No, not TOP, or whatever their financiers call themselves these days. No it'd be Green becoming the second biggest party in Parliament. That genuinely seems a realistic goal. Vote. And Vote Green.

Damn. Canterbury just utterly dominated this second half. Northland seem to, simply, not have the fortitude required to hold off Canterbury. Those Cantabs just seemed to have an extra gear or two, leaving the taniwha in their dust.

I am loving the commentators calling this "the rebirth of the NPC." As a fan, at home.on my couch, this season really has felt like a return to the provincial rugby that seemed to get lost as "Super Rugby" became more and more super and less and less rugby.

Northland leading Canterbury 21-10 at half time; in a game in Christchurch, probably wasn't on anyone's bingo card. It's been a very fun game of sportsball so far!

"It's not unusual for a front-rower to have a neck issue. It's not unusual for a front-rower to not have a neck." I do love this very casual commentary.

Just look at the size of the crowd Christchurch has brought out. A sunny (if windy) afternoon game; intense regional rivalry. This is exactly the sort of rugby union game that made me a fan many decades ago. Love to see it.

Gosh, i love living in one those, um, "exposed places.'

Seriously, though, the route from being the manager of "Global Deodorants And Grooming" at Unilever, then Prime Minister of New Zealand seems to be a very short route.

Genuinely would love to see an interviewer say "hmm, it says here,.Christopher, that you used to manage a sales force of toothpaste sale people." "Care to tell us how that qualifies you to be, *checks notes* Prime Minister of New Zealand?"

“But I don’t understand! I don’t understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she’s, there’s just a body, and I don’t understand why she just can’t get back in it and not be dead anymore! It’s stupid! It’s mortal and stupid!

And, and Xander’s crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well Joyce will never have any more fruit punch, ever, and she’ll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why."

And, lets add to this list that Luxon deliberately chose an election date that saw one possible voting day removed due to a public holiday, *and* times to coincide with the US mid-term elections, which I'm sure they hope might distract some of the political news.

Look, if all they had changed was just enrolling and voting on polling day that would have been one thing, but stopping enrolling TWO WEEKS before election day is outrageous and even previous Nats who stopped prisoners voting had not taken such an outrageous step We should be angry out loud! #NZPol

We, thankfully, have with our MMP system an electoral process that makes it almost impossible for a government to gerrymander anything (unlike, say, the US). But, we're seeing a government doing all they can to disenfranchise and disengage voters more than I think we've ever seen since MMP.

Just awoke from a dream where I had a massive plate of bacon and eggs served to me for breakfast. A potato hash, too. Then I properly woke up and realised, with a sigh, if that's gonna happen I'll need to get out of bed and into the kitchen myself.
