Happy Crock of Shit Day! A year ago today, the federal government was hard at work committing prosecutorial misconduct to secure the wrongful indictment of myself and five others. Time flies.

Grand juror: "Are you actually presenting any new actual facts …?" Mecklenburg: "Are you going to be able to listen with an open mind?" Grand juror: "I heard this case like last week and I thought it was a crock of shit."

I'm in a work meeting and a guy in front of me is taking pictures of people around the room and generating then into wearing like, clown costumes and shit and I feel I would be legally justified in hitting him over the head with a big cartoon mallet

I do AV work for a funeral home and this is one of the most common song choices. It seems to be one of those songs that elderly boomers and silent generation folks turn to as they’re thinking about death.

Under a new policy released Thursday, the Trump Administration will test conversion therapy on trans people in prisons. It explicitly states that it aims to help trans people “recover,” all the while forcibly detransitioning them both medically and socially. transitics.substack.com/p/the-trump-...

Have airstrikes by a hostile foreign country ever produced this outcome? The reactionary centrist blob keeps pretending this is part of a duly considered long-term strategy from Trump but that is not how he operates and even if it was, this is a dumb strategy.

I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them." That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Artemis update: It's been a tough time. He is still in the hospital, not eating. A few folks have asked how they can help, so I've set up a GoFundMe to help with costs. If you've ever loved Artemis, his gravity experiments and feel moved to help him, here's the link. gofund.me/252b7473c

I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that. The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one. This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.
