My 100 year old neighbor moved today. After losing her driver's license she is going into assisted living. Veronique was a teenager in nazi occupied Paris. Her late husband fought in the French Resistance.

Theory: The genus Australopithecus died out because they couldn't spell to correctly fill in the "Genus" line on job applications.

One of the dogs crapped in the house this morning after the pet flap had been unblocked. It was almost forgivable for its tidiness. It was the most perfect pyramid of poop I have ever seen.

Is anybody out there who ever went to La Bombonera in San Juan? They were in business for over a hundred years. They had a coffee maker that looked like it was designed by Dr. Seuss.

Feels like this one needs to be seen again.

An approximate quote (a "Frankism") attributed to Frank Oppenheimer in K. C. Cole's Something Incredibly Wonderful Happens: The worst thing a son of a bitch can do to you is turn you into a son of a bitch.

Woke in the middle of the night to the seamless continuation of the task from my dream: listing off all the US states that start with the letter M.

Someone in the neighborhood is putting out raw, unsalted peanuts in the shell. The crows know this and bring them to my birdbath to wash and eat. Anyhow, it's going to be a scorcher, so I cleared the shells out and filled the bath with clean water so the crows and others can have some relief.

Anyone looking for some free messaging advice: with this new $250 Trump bullshit currency, that's roughly people are spending on a couple bags of food at the store. Just start calling it the grocery bill. You're welcome.

The past couple of mornings as I stepped out to head to work I stopped to look at the waning moon. Somewhere in my field of view between here and there is the Artemis II crew. So I waved.

While they're easy to criticize, our local Walmart - with headquarters in the south - has a locally unsurpassed selection of BBQ sauces with containers going up to gallon size.

Guy on a corner yesterday in a Jesus T-shirt - wavy hair, flowing robe, nice backlighting. Holding up a sign depicting the Ark of the Covenant - shiny gold, modern level metalworking. Timing considered, what does an Old Testament artifact have to do with the resurrection of Christ?
