The worlds largest experiment in inhaling microplastics will be going on in California this weekend. Have fun, sorry I canceled.

Anyways I'm having a steak and egg sandwich. Good luck to you all at Microsoft. Wish I was able to take the leave package before I left. But I'll tell you that there any many promising futures ahead.

I keep seeing the term "taste" come up and it seems like a nebulous skill until someone in marketing told me: Taste is the ability to defend your decisions. If your defense is just "Claude said... " then you have shown yourself to be entirely replaceable because anyone can ask Claude.

Having seperate SDETs, back end, front end, security people is not making sense anymore. I believe there still will be jobs, but you need to be the most fullest stack person possible to be the single point of contact. Enough to smell when something is wrong to dig deeper.

In my opinion they are better in the midwest iowa region. The inclusion of iceberg and fresh uncooked tomatoes as well as doritos is a fantastic contrast to the cheese, taco meat, and taco sauce.

A taco pizza? I don’t think I’ve heard of that before.

I didn't realize it was restaurant week. I tried peony. $20 lunch semi American-Chinese restaurant. Good value, egg drop soup could use white pepper, I think hot and sour is a bit too sour, egg rolls are fantastic delecate and perfect shr... atlanotes.com/geonote/3c72...

I'm pretty excited about this new Podcast=>Clip=>shorts pipeline I have going. This is the first result of the short i'm happy with.

Reviewing AI code, the primary thing you should look for is it overcomplicating a solution by reinventing the wheel. You should always ask if the problem has already been solved by someone else.

Got the taco time pizza at pagliacci. It's an alright attempt at a taco pizza. But I prefer the Iowa Midwestern version. It feels like it's a different direction but the lack of iceberg and fresh tomatoes kind makes this feel heavy. The on... atlanotes.com/geonote/09b8...

Maki and Bento still in this economy offer a shockingly good value Japanese experience. They expanded to a simple udon that can be had under $15. I'm not much of an avocado fan but their salmon avocado Maki is excellent due to the large pi... atlanotes.com/geonote/f495...

This is an Ontario 18 inch machete. Same model as they used in Vietnam. I wanted one for collecting but also because I have a literal jungle out back to clear.

the meme of "visit my vibecoded website at localhost:5000" is for a reason. When faced with what it actually costs to host a website like atlanotes.com a month. It filters out 99% of people. Writing code for it is just only one of the considerations.

Currently suffering and enjoying a meat lock from hot pot. The weekday regular lunch is about $30 and perfectly happy with it. A strong variety of proteins and yin yang soup bases. $3 for sauce bar seems like nickel and diming though.. atlanotes.com/geonote/fd53...

At the moment. My current feelings is that people vibecoding their programs is like a 20 year old taking out an autoloan for a Ferrari. It looks cool and for the first few weeks it can seem awesome. But they really don't know what they signed onto, until the bill comes due months from now.

If past tech debt was like credit card spend. Current vibecoding is like taking out a mortgage. The house can look pretty, but without a good inspection you maybe taking on huge debt you cant afford. We take a look on how to clean LLM code and when to use abstraction. youtu.be/0D3ggX-VAB4

Found a place that sells doctor sausage. It's not bad. Sort of reminds me of vietnamese cold cuts. atlanotes.com/geonote/a872...

The Steam AI generated game situation: The value of the game is only as good as the amount of effort it takes to make it. If the game is just made with a sentence prompt to an AI. It's as valuable as the amount of effort it took to do that.

The only time you should pursue a dream, is when everyone tells you how its a terrible idea and you go do it anyways.

They should update game dev tycoon with AI. It let's you release games with no sales in an oversaturated market of everyone doing the same thing. The one game you have with mild success is copied the next day and all your sales disappear.

oh, also on the website right now is the totally awesome non-ai generated logos of @whitefoxdesigns.net I'm currently using it as the launching point for the design language of a few of the buttons, loading screens, and spinners. Branding like this is too important to just have AI do for you.

Atlanotes.com is starting to look more and more completed. The goal is to get manual review approval of each feature that vibecoded prototype before signing new users. It's slow, but I'm getting there.

I'm very confused by people buying 64gb-128gb VRAM laptops to run AI. Like, why do you want a compromised low wattage processor with terrible cooling mechanics to run on your device? What exactly are you giving up if you bought dedicated desktop hardware served from it instead?

High protein Salmon toast using 0% Greek yogurt rather than cream cheese. Honestly my preference as the lightness of the yogurt works better than cream cheese.

This is protein banana bread. The macros aren't amazing, something like 0.6g-.7g per 10 cal. Recipe is from gemini because quite frankly there didn't seem to be a recipe for this that wasn't using some exotic ingredients to make it keto and gluten free. I wanted regular flour and regular sugar.

It should go without saying that generated recipes should be used carefully and only if you have some decent understanding of the principles. If the recipe exists, you should use established recipes tested by real people. But there's also finding the starting point something totally untested.

As much as I am trying and honestly having fun navigating the new software development landscape. Around a lunch table i told people the happiest I've been at a job was being a dishwasher and line cook on a summer gig at a restaurant. It makes about 60k a year around here. I think about it...

This includes all the romance of late nights, no weekends, 2 am clock outs. sore feet, hot sweaty kitchen, and everyone around me with addictions drugs, alcohol and criminal records. Could I go do that again? it sounds like fun.

A follow up episode. For better or for worse, my conclusion is that even the best frontier AI will still make questionable decisions in the pursuit of never going against you. Why you still need to make judgement calls on what you are willing tradeoff. You still have a job to do.

Claude can’t save you. We go through how to organize the 14,000 lines vibecoding made, and walkthrough why it can't (and probably will never) replace engineering judgement for building reliable, extendable web infrastructure. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQG9...

Got the costco apple pie sundae. The apples still have a nice cirspines and acidity but I wish we're more assertive against the mild vanilla base. The crust cookies are the winner having a lot of toasted flavor over sweetness. My advice is stir it like hell. atlanotes.com/geonote/0f19...

One of the dumbest things I've read from an engineer. $14,400 a year subscription isn't learning to use your resources. An engineer who's definition is solving problems with constraints. If there are no constraints, there isn't a problem with solving.

This would be the mechanical engineer equivalent of being given unlimited carbon fiber to build anything you want. You aren't going to be making anything practical or productive despite how awesome the material is. The person with a little bit is probably going to use it the best.
