We are making a sandcastle building game with realistic water and sand physics! 🏖️ In the demo, you can press TAB and you will see some dev tools! Enter ‘SIM’ and you can play with a bunch of settings like time, wave types, and erosion! (we recommend saving before experimenting!)

Thank you all for the support and feedback on the Sandcastle demo! 🌞 We are seeing a lot of accounts claiming to have mobile versions or full versions of our game. Right now, Sandcastle is only available via Steam. Anything else is a clone or a fake 💔

Sandcastle is being handmade by a solo dev and it’s a huge labour of love. Any version not under the Bubblebird name is not official. Be careful of downloading anything else!

How my sandbox game gained 50,000 wishlists in a week! We started posting about our upcoming game, Sandcastle, on Instagram Reels and TikTok and got 50K WISHLISTS after one video (165k total now!). Here's a thread on what worked and what platforms performed best!

The reception on both TikTok and Instagram was super positive (nice!) but the instagram reel outperformed massively and got 4.5 million views organically in a week! This bumped up our wishlists for Sandcastle significantly (over 50k in less than two weeks!) 🤯

The TLDR: - Organic social media marketing can be hit or miss, but when it hits it really HITS. - Opening shots are crucial. - Listen to comments. - Repost content to other platforms and see what sticks. - Don’t be afraid to do it over and over again!

FFG created a video with the following in mind: - Minimal text with keywords (beach sandbox/realistic physics) - Simple opening shot of key gameplay mechanic - Different tools with unique effects - ASMR-like SFX (rather than rely on platform trending sounds) - Under 20s

The majority of comments on the YT video were: - players enjoyed the sfx - simple gameplay shots - Curious to see more water and sand mechanics. Reading every comment can be tough but it can be a great springboard for knowing what content potential players WANT to see

The biggest spike came after we announced our publisher @futurefriendsgames.com (FFG)! 🧡 We've been posting on this platform for a while but FFG encouraged us to try other platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram, where they thought crossposting content could super expand our reach!

The first huge wishlist spike came from Wholesome Games sharing the trailer to their YT (almost half a million views three weeks later!). This is huge for an indie dev studio like us! Thank you @wholesomegames.com 💜
