First day back with the students. This year’s opener: “What do I, and Olivia Rodrigo, have in common?” Clicks button to reveal school values and classroom rules “We both have expectations.” Perfect groan to smile ratio, would use again.

I've weighed in on the great vocational education debate. From what we can see of the govt plans, I think they will repeat mistakes of the past. Also, we need to retire the phrase "parity of esteem". It's not helping. substack.nomoremarking.com/p/the-proble...

The time it takes to read a blog which mentions that Park Lane is the least landed on square, to creating pdf slide deck which allows me to use this as a lesson hook, is minutes. Ready to drop into onenote (or anything else) and use.

Gave out a sticker and wrote "good effort" in a student's jotter. She looked aghast and said "but I got all of them right!" We use so many euphemisms, it's funny being caught sincere.
