Awful Announcing@awfulannouncing.bsky.social

ESPN rushed to Pat McAfee's defense while the University of Utah apologized over a student Instagram video that triggered the ESPN star. awfulannouncing.com/college-foot...

Mike: Ishikawa hit a homerun and we lost Claude: I'm sorry. You're right. Putting in a starting pitcher who hasn't thrown in a live game in over 1 month wasn't the correct call. Thanks for correcting me.

Turn Frontenac mall into a data center!

Greater St. Louis Inc. CEO Ron Kitchens warned that communities without large data centers risk being left behind as Missouri attracts billions in new projects. The remarks came during a state energy summit focused on data center growth and infrastructure demands. www.stlpr.org/health-scien...

I don't even know how you'd quantify it. But yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Reyes beating Verlander. And given their careers up to that point, and paths since then, I think you could make the case that it's the most absurd outcome in World Series history

Oh dear there is a lot to digest here

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played the game without having slept. Crazy.

I just want to add on that you should absolutely see You Can See Everything in a theater. Saw mine at Ronnies, completely full and made the experience so much more intense

On the one hand, Drink called a super conservative game last week because he didn’t need to do anything risky against A&M. On the other hand, he did that because he’s a giant coward

How much do the players get?

Bryan Fischer@bryandfischer.bsky.social

ESPN paying reported $345m to lock up 24 team CFP. $345m / 12 additional games = $28.75m, or what just slightly more than what sublicensed games were worth to TNT, while locking out every other network from CFB postseason. Smart business.

Assuming both of Bill Pulsipher's sons ended up being southpaws or else they would've had to change their names, right?

You could probably argue that the appeal is already gone

Jessica Smetana@jessicasmetana.bsky.social

How long will it take for the appeal of simply making the playoff to wear off? Now there are 24 teams in it, you’re not as special for just being invited. I think this devalues the CFP brand in a way that probably isn’t being accounted for by the brand itself. But anyways, One year? Two years?

Release it in quad box, you cowards

Sony is considering releasing all 4 ‘BEATLES’ biopics on the same day in April 2028. Another idea being considered is offering a 4-pack of tickets to encourage fans to buy tickets to all 4 films at once. (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)
