The main problem with running a business while also working a p/t job and helping my husband rehab from spine and brain surgeries is that I haven’t accounted for any days off. About to start week 3 and I’m already tired.

Hey did I mention I got a part-time job working at Portland Leather? It’s pretty cool and I get to see lots of humans which is nice but my feet hurt a lot. Also I smell like leather all the time which isn’t the worst. I used to smell like old coffee.

Any other 80s kids watch Mannequin when you were very little and feel like you’ve have weird relationship expectations as an adult? Or just a strange relationship with the song Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now?

I haven’t worn makeup in a long time, but I decided to make a batch of foundation, concealer, highlighter, and bronzer, since I used to love making them. Now I just have to figure out how to put them on my 42yo face 🫠

I’m planning a sale because things are… DIRE. Which gets you more interested: - Buy One Get One Free - 50% off Everything I know which is better for me, but want to know what shoppers think.

I thought when my husband had brain surgery last week that I’d feel relief when it was over (which I did) but now I’m 100x more stressed about his recovery. Fear of stroke, and falling, and infection have me in a chokehold.

Ok so #IcePlanetBarbarians really is that good! I’m super lucky my library has unlimited copies of the audiobook available, but now I have to wait weeks for the next one! 😭 💙📚 #booksky

I don’t normally get migraines, but I had one today that swept in immediately after I looked at a bright spot of reflected sunlight in a video I was filming. Is this a thing? Or is everything perimenopause?

Worked out on my elliptical today for the first time in about a month. It’s so hard to get back into it after having plantar fasciitis. My body feels great, except for my left foot which wants to punish me for the next 2 weeks.

I spent ALL DAY editing photos and making listings so I could launch 10 new engraved designs on mugs & glassware for tomorrow (I also made 4 pizzas) and now I’m too tired to promote them. But trust me, they’re cool.

Ugh. My sandblasting equipment needed a trip to the hardware store and another 3 hours of work today before it was running smoothly again. Had to take much of it apart because a 4-way cross piece was installed upside down. 🤦🏻‍♀️ should be tip-top now though!

I spent 3 hrs yesterday doing maintenance on my sandblasting equipment: removing old abrasive, vacuuming the dust collection filter, replacing filters and gaskets, etc. This is why I’ll never have delicate hands with a nice manicure.

Not sure if anyone is excited about art right now, but I’ve been IN THE ZONE for the past week making new designs that I’m going to sandblast onto barware and handmade pottery. There are a lot of skulls and bones. And an outer space dog.

What do you think of this design placement? The hawkmoth was too wide to fit two as I usually do, so I put it opposite the handle instead. Swipe to see it from other angles and tell me what you think. #pottery #deathsheadhawkmoth #mugs #moth #art #skulls

Where are my black flamingo fans at? 🖤🦩⚔️ Are you as excited as I am for the new Sleep Token single that we’ll (hopefully) get to hear tomorrow (3/31)?? I made this fan art to celebrate. #sleeptokenart #sleeptokenfanart #blackflamingo

All right, I just added a little donation button to my website through Ko-fi, in case anyone wants to buy me a coffee instead of buying an expensive item. 🤎 I’m going to try finding other low-cost ways for people to support my biz too!

“Yeah, they aren’t cheap but at least they won’t look like crap after a couple months.” –Me, referring to the cups I sandblast so the art can’t wear away or fade like the ones you’ve been using

I’ve lived in Portland Oregon since 2008, running a small art business. I remember people used to be so super supportive or crafty shops like mine, and sustainability and eco-friendly products were sought out. What happened?
