Hello everyone, 1.0 has now officially been sunset and has been replaced with the rewrite after careful testing by our Discord community. We are very happy to finally get the rewrite into your hands and take you all with us in our new chapter.

we have made the decision to delay this build until around November 5th or 7th as the build, with all back-end changes put together, has many breaking changes which could risk the website being unusable or have major regressions in functionality for 1.5 weeks.

a new build will be shipped this weekend which includes changes based on continued feedback while pushing back-end changes to address some quirks and laying the grounds to implement big features we want to ship before the end of this year. we highlighted some here:

to make up for this we will include a rework of the searching module along with additional filters that we have been working on in the next build which will improve searching on BOOTHPLORER significantly to go with with the overhauled Asset Cards that are ready in this build.

we apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your understanding while we continue monitoring feedback and work on shipping significant improvements in the coming months before the year ends, and after this year, of course! ..and a happy halloween for those who celebrate it. 🎃

this is a bit of a late call, but with the significant changes to our back-end and the maintainer of the website being unavailable for a week, releasing this build requires an availability period in which we need to be able to ship hot-fixes if anything doesn't go quite right.

Asset translations: translations on Asset names haven't been processing for a day now as our service provider for that no longer seems to be functional. these will now be handled on the server, giving better accuracy and retain the context from the untranslated name.

..and those are the highlights for the upcoming build, we left out some minor/technically complicated ones. a more detailed change log will be up on our Discord when the build is out along with a post here summing up the changes. thank you for your support, as always!

Avatar Asset fixes: we have rewritten the Avatar <-> Asset logic to fix inconsistencies where the Assets for an Avatar is not quite right. this took a bit to get right as we want to ensure maximum coverage, especially for Shops who tend to be very lazy with their tagging.

Card improvements: based on continued feedback we will be shipping improvements to Cards to allow users to go directly to the BOOTH page for that Asset from a Card along with visual touch-ups to be able to display more Cards per row along with other improvements.

we just released a hotfix build for BOOTHPLORER addressing several issues, including the website being slow for those using a web browser with very poor CPU WebRender Compositing due to the amount of backdrop-filter classes used; these have been trimmed down.

Hello everyone, 1.0 has now officially been sunset and has been replaced with the rewrite after careful testing by our Discord community. We are very happy to finally get the rewrite into your hands and take you all with us in our new chapter.

This is the fifth rewrite based on 1.0 which has seen a lot of re-iterations to align for long-term maintainability and being able to (continue our) work on shipping additional features and quality of life for BOOTHPLORER in the future; on the website and outside of it.

today at around 22:30 UTC the website will be unreachable as we will be switching the DNS to redirect to rewrite (2.0) and sunset 1.0. thank you to everyone who took the time to test the stealth testing release of rewrite when it was announced on our Discord server a week ago!

soon.

we recommend getting your (imaginative) lab coat ready! we will be needing a tester soon.. or two testers... three maybe..... preferably way more than three.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Reviews" With 2.0 full release you will be able to (finally) leave reviews, allowing users to recommend an asset or avatar for their exceptional quality or to warn about certain shortcomings that could be a deal-breaker for others.

And yes, we are aware that allowing people to leave reviews can introduce points of concern. We will be shipping this feature with minimal safeguards and users will be allowed to upvote reviews so reviews deemed helpful are given the most visibility.

Lastly, before we go back to working on 2.0: - A review cannot be removed by a shop; only reviews that violate our review policy are removed. - This feature can only really be properly tested by real people, and we will make adjustments to this system where needed based on usage.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Bookmarks" With 2.0 full release you will be able to bookmark assets, avatars and shops. Allowing you to track their prices and/or new content (if it is an avatar or shop) on certain parts of the website.

No teaser posts today as we are hard at work getting 2.0 full release ready and like a surprise. Maybe more than one surprise even. But we are curious, have you recently bought an asset that didn't meet your expectations and did you wish you could write a review on it?

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Enhanced Asset Metadata" We are putting the (ex)plorer back in BOOTHPLORER with this feature, allowing users to see AND filter by more than ever before. For now, have a look at how Enhanced Asset Metadata enriches our all-new asset cards.

This is one of our biggest features & functionalities coming with 2.0 full release, allowing for more relevant, important and useful data to take the spotlight in helping users find assets, avatars and assets for their avatars. And yes, searching will no longer suck, promise.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Avatar Groups" While bodygroups offer asset compatibility from the get go, avatar groups tell the user that most assets from grouped avatars work with a disclaimer, which will be displayed on their avatar pages in 2.0 full release.

When searching for assets for avatars with an avatar group, you can have assets from all grouped avatars show up in the search module. It is turned off by default, but when ticked on (or off) it will persist that state in your localStorage.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Translations That Don't Suck" Empty translations, overly verbose translations with so much clutter; we get it, it's embarrassing! That's why we completely rewrote our translation system; outputting cleaner, meaningful translations for assets.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "Avatar Tierlist Maker" With all features you are used to from other websites such as Tiermaker with a huge catalogue of avatars at your fingertips to tell your friends or followers your important opinion on BOOTH avatars!

This exported image is from a development build of 2.0 full release and may change. Accessibility and support may vary depending on device used; at the moment this feature is focused towards users on a PC. No user account is required to create, save and export these.

✨ coming with 2.0 full release: "True Pricing" On BOOTH, prices usually reflect the cheapest variant rather than that of the actual avatar itself. True Pricing fixes this, showing the real cost of assets & avatars and getting rid of 'clickbait prices'.

We have performed some "spring cleaning" on 2.0 following feedback and observing increasing performance overhead on the website and our background jobs. In addition we have added additional RAM and disk space to our web server to accommodate for this.

This includes bug fixes based on our improved logging features with 2.0 and refactoring parts of the code to be able to accomodate the increasing amount of users on the public test of 2.0 and increase in data stored in our database with the rewrite of core functionality.

We are looking to sunset 1.0 around May or June as we continue to process feedback, release updates and implement additional features. Allowing us to work on making this great and give users enough time to test, give us feedback and get used to the new website.

As always, thank you for your continued support and patience. We also want to give our special thanks to @catmelt.com for their amazing job on creating our new branding assets and nailing the visual identity of BOOTHPLORER with us.

To focus on feedback on basic features people have come to love in 1.0, we will be prioritizing feedback on those features before enabling & working on additional features that were not present in 1.0 while expanding the indexed avatars in 2.0 and keeping up with new releases.

As 2.0 is a rewrite from the ground up and has been developed with maintainability in mind, 2.0 will see faster and more impactful updates aligned to what our users would want to see and what we have been trying to implement, but never could, since 1.0.

Regarding booth.pm/announcement..., Having been in contact with the pixiv team since February 2025, we wanted to ensure everyone that this announcement does not impact BOOTHPLORER in any way. We want to thank the pixiv team for their understanding along with their continued communication with us.

Initially upon being reached out by the pixiv team in February, we were not sure what their thoughts would be about the website and service. But we have been given nothing else but support and an 'informal endorsement' for making it easier for overseas users to find and buy assets legally.

BOOTHPLORER turns 2 years old on October 27th! We have been working on making 2.0 better than ever and are very excited to confirm that we will be releasing 2.0 during it's 2 year anniversary. (Yes, for real.)

Hello everyone, we have caught up with some avatars that we haven't indexed. This applies to avatars found on the 1st to the 18th on BOOTH when sorting by "popularity" in the "3D Characters" section. In addition we have indexed all avatars requested through our Social Media DMs.

Hello everyone, we are aware of an older avatar with the same name suddenly getting a lot more items ever since this Ichigo's release; this will be adjusted next week.

Hello everyone, BOOTHPLORER will be offline for around the whole day starting 14:00 UTC for the migration and release of version 2.0/rewrite. The website will be unreachable during this maintenance/migration.

Hello everyone, the website will be unreachable during the early afternoon (in UTC) on July 7th for the release of version 2.0/the rewrite. Another post will be made closer to the maintenance time containing estimated downtime duration and other information.

...very soon! pinky promise.

BOOTHPLORER@boothplorer.com

Hello everyone, due to issues found while preparing the release of the rewrite on our staging server using the live database we have to unfortunately push back the release of the rewrite for somewhere this month. We are disappointed, but this is the right call while keeping 1.0 up for a bit longer.
