Day 9: #SeptemberWorldbuilders Mostly the same foods we have in real life. The Wastes have several fungi that are poisonous for humans and certain Benign races, but Ungovernable races can freely it them (if they wanted).

Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders! In your fictional world, what plants or fungi are consumed? Do you have any vegan/vegetarian characters? What are some of their favorite meals?

β€œThat’s right. Struggle. Fight with everything you have, it won’t change the outcome. You’ll do exactly what I tell you.” He plunged the scalpel into Rylen’s chest. β€œSure, it would have been easier if I didn’t have to break you physically as well as mentally, but at least I’ll get to enjoy myself.”

Day 8: #SeptemberWorldbuilders Sirens have a dish made of vegetables, potatoes and hearts (human). It's essentially a stew with a final ingredient that requires the blood of a deceased siren. The meal is only eaten during the passing of a beloved member of the community.

It's the second week of #SeptemberWorldbuilders and the theme this time is FOOD AND DRINK! Today's Q: Tell me about a local or cultural dish in your world. Is it made for special occasions? Bonus points if anyone makes me hungry πŸ˜‹

#WIPSnips Apologies for the unedited nature of this one, it's a relatively new chapter. #snippet #writingcommunity #WriteSky

Welcome to a new week of #WIPSnips! The word for September 7th is "elevator" which is what I've been spending all week waiting forever on and packed into like a sardine at Dragon Con. πŸ˜‚ #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

Day 7: #SeptemberWorldbuilders The Wastes don't have seasons. Temperatures remain constant and the only rain that falls is upside down rain that acts as a barrier between the Wastes and the rest of the world. When you enter the Wastes, if there is no wildlife around, it seems like a frozen world.

Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders! For our last question about seasons, tell me about the parts of your world that don't have the traditional four seasons. Do you have wet/dry seasons? Or something else entirely different and fantastical?

I'm not sure πŸ˜… I'm terrible with flirting so my characters have a handicap there, but maybe this: "You’re always so secretive when you write me songs. Come on. Please… just one verse.” β€œKir, darling,” he crooned, β€œPatience. It’s not done yet. Its not perfect, not like you.”

What's the most flustering bit of dialogue between your characters you've written? The best tease, flirt, or embarassing line! #WritingQ #WritingPrompts #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

Day 6: #SeptemberWorldbuilders Jamie likes spring because, for some unknown reason, crime rates lower in the fall. (There is a reason, Jamie doesn't know it, and if he did, he wouldn't like it 😬) Rylen likes fall. Less concerts means more time at home with his family and-

#SeptemberWorldbuilders. Hello, friends! Tell me more about your MC's relationship with the seasons. Do they have a favorite? Do they participate in festivals or events related to the changing of the year? Do they like to dress fashionably for each season?

Day 6: #Septversary Jamie is a detective ans he is quite passionate about his job. He wants to help people, and is only now realizing, that it's possible, that he's hurting more than helping. Rylen is the frontman of his band and absolutely loves what he does. Singing and using his music to-

#Septversary Day 6: Passionate about work What does your character do for work? Are they passionate about it? Do they hate it? Maybe somewhere in between? #WritingPrompt #WritingCommunity

#Septopolis The main city's name is Tearhan. The founders chose that name because of a myth about The Goddess: Supposedly, one of the tears she wept when she learned what Ungovernable races were doing to humans, landed on the coast where Tearhan now stands. This land was blessed due to the tear-

Good morning #Septopolis. If you're using this to build something and haven't picked one yet, take today and ponder it (I did this last year in fact!). Then, tell us about how it got this name. It could be serious and directly from in-world or it could be a silly in-joke amongst your friends.

Day 5: #Septversary Jamie will ask for help once he gets well and truly stuck, that said, if someone notices he's struggling and they offer to help, he'll accept it. Rylen learned the hard way to ask for help and he often falls into old habits of keeping things to himself.

#Septversary Day 5: Asking for Help Is your character okay asking for help from others? Or do they struggle with it? Pick any character(s) you'd like! #WritingPrompt #WritingCommunity

Day 5: #SeptemberWorldbuilders Winter in Tearhan is fairly mild. There's a little bit of snow for the first month and that is about all the city gets. There are a few festivals that take place, most of them are human festivals meant to create a sense of community-

Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders! Last but not least, we have WINTER. Tell me what winter is like in your setting. Is it a time of joy with fun Christmas-like holidays, or is it dreadful, cold, and full of horrors? What festivals or symbols do you have in your world for winter?

#SeptemberWorldbuilders Summer tends to be consistently warm with a couple of weeks of rain in early summer. There are two festivals mentioned in the books, but several occur throughout summer. The Cyrean Festival has carnival rides and games and considered family friendly. The Demetrius-

Now for summer! #SeptemberWorldbuilders, what summer festivals, activities, symbols, etc. are present in your world? Do your characters ever get to enjoy them?

Day 2: #SeptemberWorldbuilders Spring is relatively warm in Tearhan and the Protectorate Nation. Most festivals take place in summer, but spring time is the period for the Nymphs to shine and they have their Festival of Four. It's a two week celebration to honour the four deities.

Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders! Today and for the next few days, I'm asking about the four seasons as they are depicted in your world! What is spring like? Do they have any spring festivals or traditions? Anything symbolic of the season?

#WIPSnips Rylen dipped his head slowly and *redacted* pulled out a tablet. He pressed a few things on the screen until a black and white camera feed appeared with a play button in the middle. The frontman paused before hitting play. #writesky #writingcommunity #writingprompts

The #WIPSnips word for September 2nd is "button" #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

Day 2: #septversary Rylen would love to be himself, but society despises Ungovernables, and he's forced to play a different role. Jamie on the other hand can authentically be himself until he realizes that who he is, is part of the problem (then he has to make choices πŸ‘€πŸ‘€)

#Septversary Day 2: Being Myself Does your character believe in being themselves? Do they want to but can't because of the world or a situation? #WritingPrompt #WritingCommunity

#Septversary In book 2 of Ungovernables, community is one of the central plot points as both MC's feel alone in their respective struggles, and it follows each MC as they "build" a community (one in a healthy way, the other, not so much).

Welcome to #Septversary Day 1: Community! Is community important in your WIP? How can community help (or hurt) in your world? Feel free to interpret as generally or specifically as you'd like! Use the tag and interact with others! #WritingPrompt #WritingCommunity
