All these years I honestly didn't know the ending of Cabin in the Woods was supposed to be morally grey. I thought the twist was that, now that they know the whole world is at stake, the protagonists become the villains for choosing to let that happen. Right???

Like.....they find out, unambiguously, that either they have to be sacrificed or the whole world dies, and they choose "the whole world dies." Aren't we supposed to hate them for it?

On humid nights you can hear her. She breathes softly as she drags her matted hair across slick concrete. Don’t investigate the stench, she’s already found you.

I literally wanted to be in genetic engineering when I was little because I thought by the time I was old it would have advanced to being able to create your own new kinds of animals. Being a creature design art person is compensation for being unable to really make, like, wolf sized mosquitoes

I would have been an astronaut

its very convenient when people admit their crimes like this, if only there were actually going to be consequences, its a shame crime is legal

Stephen Miller’s podcaster wife had to double back after overplaying her hand. Katie Miller quickly deleted a post on X gloating over the ICE raid on Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C., home on Monday, (cont.) www.thedailybeast.com/katie-miller...

If french fries are rigid and crisp I barely want them. If fries are squishy, oily and as limp as noodles I can't stop until they're gone. I have a bottomless appetite for exclusively flaccid french fries.

I'll never understand how this is an unusual opinion either. How can everyone else love cardboard-stiff fries so much. You might as well eat twigs off the ground!!!

Looking at and reviewing quirky silly colorful Halloween items in stores was my big hobby for so long but most chains have now gone out of business and a lot of what's out this year is either rehashes of past years, or it's AI-designed and sucks.

Publishing my big "life's work" project a year ago ultimately didn't make me any less poor. No steady fully time job would hire a middle aged man who's had no official work experience in 20 years and can't keep a consistent sleep schedule either, I pretty much wasted my life whoops

The fun, sweet, unplaceable nice feeling I used to get from fall and from all the stuff I'm into, like the things my website is about, is honestly just kind of gone completely I think. The season just flew by faster to me than it ever has and I've got little energy for all I hoped to do for it

For maybe the first hour of each day I think about all kinds of projects I'd like to do or fun little things like even just playing a video game with other people, or making physical art again. I'll plan out 5 activities I should technically have time for in just a day, even

Instead its 4 pm now and I realize I didn't do anything yet, and I simultaneously feel like I'm missing out horribly and like it really doesn't matter anyway because there's nothing to look forward to.

I didn't think I really experienced "nostalgia" but I guess it must have been what I was usually feeling. Halloween time felt like when I was young enough to still have family in one place and still looked forward to the rest of life maybe

I think I also always wanted to be more of a part of the real life world regular people enjoy? I used to dream of having a house with a yard to decorate, and a family life and friends who come visit and stuff. I missed the window for all that to be possible before I got too old

I never in my life heard of oneyplays until people brought that up in connection to a tv cartoon and I still didn't know it referred to one specific guy until now. I love being oblivious to stuff everyone assures me is wildly famous

Truly hate how badly the well has now been poisoned for every kind of technology involved in or adjacent to what's been forced under the "ai" umbrella. Neural networks are in fact really special and amazing. Generative algorithms have uses that don't run off a tesla data centers.
