The hair on my arms is standing up on end because the best I could do to describe how this source file should work was through a reference to Tron (1982) — and my AI assistant totally got the reference.

I saw a post on another network chiding Pfizer for curing 0 diseases despite having been in business for 175 years. Actually, none of the top five largest pharma companies have definitively cured or eradicated anything. Besides, it’s bad for business— just ask Gilead Sciences.

I’m building complications for an Apple WATCH app. Complications are governed by “families,” coming from WidgetKit, and I wasn’t sure that data was coming through. When I checked my work in, I left the comment, “testing family values.” Then I threw up in my mouth a little.

In the software world, one’s creation “blows up” when an unhandled exception occurs. By extension, when an unhandled exception occurs during a vite build, it “blows chunks.” #amirite

Prescient lyrics from Duran Duran (“Acadia,” technically) in 1985: Hi guys, by the way \ Are you aware you’re being illegal \ It’s making your savior behavior look evil

I’d like to congratulate LANDS’ END for embracing probably the ONE instance where adding their lighthouse logo to an item (men’s underwear) impacts their brand. I can’t unsee it.

After moving my wife’s car, I went back in the house and returned with our handheld vacuum cleaner. Halfway through tidying up the driver side floor I realized the vacuum had last been used to clean around the cat box. Stop now, or finish the job and hope the car isn’t left smelling like 💩?

I’ve typed “APP_PATH” into Terminal so often now that my evil brain maliciously inserts the 1960’s BATMAN theme into the background when I think of the term. #earworm

Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. Today, we honor the heroic fight by so many Americans for freedom and continue our nation’s long march toward liberty and justice for all.

My AI just told me that pausing my work at 4:30 AM is a good call because “the kinds of bugs that appear after that hour tend to be of the ‘Why is there a semicolon in my toaster?’ variety.”

Typing “git status” into Terminal after pushing code up is kinda the equivalent of professional eaters opening their mouths, sticking out their tongues and holding up their hands after finishing a meal

My wife enjoys these awful stories called “Vertical Dramas”(Vertical, as in camera orientation). Nicknamed “slap shows,” she watches them with earbuds in while we relax outside. I’ve decided I’m going to start a series of posts about the absurd things she yells as she watches. #verticaldrama

A President ordering the Justice Department to criminally investigate a woman who won a sexual assault lawsuit against him makes Watergate look like an unpaid parking ticket.

If I was asked for one thing our nation needs right now, my response would be: A moral compass, completely independent of religion. We need a government that strikes the balance between laws that govern AND laws that protect. In my view, any official who fails to do that is not a public servant.

If you have no idea what a SONIC is, you have no business being in the drive through during the lunch rush hour. Please find some other time to discover its wonders. Sincerely, EVERYONE STUCK BEHIND YOU

My father died for our country during Vietnam. My mother, herself an enlisted nurse, had given me up a few years before he was KIA. Today is set aside for him and those with whom I served who have left us. Restoring our democracy is the appropriate way to honor them.

I’m about to call the POC at a potential employer who told me I’d hear back on next steps this (past) week. Most of the time if I’m doing the following up, it’s not going to be good news. I’m consumed with dread.

Not gud: The company’s phone system doesn’t recognize the extension she has listed in her email sig. Tried the extension for HR — nobody picked up. … because they’re all at lunch, right? Right?

I know this isn’t very MTV OG of me, but as I’m listening to 80s music I find I’m annoyed by every one of Phil Collins’ softer hits with horn sections. I think it’s because he released thousands of them between like ‘84 and ‘87, and they all got huge radio play. I’m still sick of them, I guess.

JFC I’ve just been arguing with an LLM over how to construct this schema. Today, working with this model has been like talking to Spock, except he has severe ADHD and has gone a couple days without space-Ritalin. Keeping the model ON TOPIC has been frustratingly difficult.

I just interviewed with a company we’ll call “IT ANALYSTS.” Initial, getting-to-know-you” call. I should hear back from them in a week. My standard procedure is to make a contact record for the recruiter in my phone so their calls ring through, and I typically use the company logo as the image. 1/2

So I copy in all the contact info, get a screenshot of the logo, and place it as the contact image… and it previews — in giant letters — as “ANALY.” Yeah, no that… no that can’t… .

Global Grift. Looks like the WH is taking part, either passively or actively, in PROFITING off Trump's middle east flailing and failing. Millions of lives are on the line, and they're doing it to cash in. THIs should be a major story on every channel.

ME TO CAT: You get fed every day at 6 CAT: Cool, cool cool, I'll start howling at you about it at 3:45 so you don't forget. ME: I've literally never forgotten. CAT: So the reminders are working...

Diplomacy has always been the answer, which is why the President shouldn’t have gotten us into this war of choice. It’s been reckless, cost U.S. soldiers their lives, and is raising prices on families. A ceasefire is a start, but Congress needs to do our jobs and end this war.

✅ Done. I phoned her office in D.C., quoted the first sentence, and suggested she pursue Articles of Impeachment and removal under the 25th Amendment — none of which she will actually do because I have no sway (read: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$).
