Schools should be for education, not indoctrination. England and Wales are almost alone in the democratic world in having a (widely disregarded) law that requires state schools to hold a daily act of ‘broadly Christian’ collective worship. And Reform want to double down on this religious fascism.

Walking the dog this morning and I heard from a window the theme tune to Minder. I first thought “who watches Minder at 8am?”. My second thought was then “who is watching Minder in 2026‽”.

Had an amazing four-day-long weekend celebrating our belated 11th anniversary, consisting mostly of finishing a bitch of a jigsaw, watching Star Trek, building Lego, walking and playing with the dogs and eating breakfast foods for almost every meal. And naps. Lots of naps.

Watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds (a fun show) but I keep expecting Scotty to say “that’s pure gash” every now and then.

I’m going to spend the next hour or so psychically vilifying every single evil rightwing bigoted antisocial fuck that I can think of with as much mental vitriol as I can muster before the Grim Reaper makes it unfashionable.
