Every 15 cent that the government subsidises a litre of petrol with could also power 50km of electric cycling. It's not either/or, but the bang-for-buck on cycling is massive.

This ebike has a 500Wh battery, with a range of ~50km. 500Wh is half a standard electricity unit (1kWh). If you pay €0.30 per unit for your electricity, then it costs €0.15 to charge this ebike. That €0.15 buys you 50km of cycling, or €0.003 per kilometre. bleeperactive.com/collections/...

Dublin City Council issued a tender for the delivery of up to 300 'Bike Bunkers' branded lockers across the city to provide secure parking for people living in terraced houses or other homes, such as apartments, which do not have easy access to sheds.
