Kyle D. Long

At the risk of participating in someone's public humiliation fetish, I can't imagine having so little pride that I would publish "Mayor Uses City-Owned Venue After Hours" as some kind of scandal.

Have they considered starving these fuckers of money? If they can cut off sex workers and porn performers, they can cut off people who are actually dangerous. "Sorry, you can't use any financial services because you've said you can't stop your product from destroying ours," could work wonders.

My Dad's leukemia is now "something you die with" rather than "something you die of." Smoking is no longer cool, and cigarette smoke no longer poisons every venue. No smog. No lakes or rivers on fire. AIDS is not a death sentence. Fucking Ozempic, man, it rocks for diabetics like me.

This is true, and pervasive, and it's why I've been called an elite or elitist by people far wealthier than this son of educators, but it's important to remember it also means "Jewish." The forces behind all that is wrong in our society always boil down to racism, misogyny, and antisemitism.

Grotesque in its honesty. So much of "AI" is about the pathetic grievances of white failures. And I do wish they wouldn't use my name for this dreck.

My mom can't remember names. She can forget a name three minutes after you've told her. She can forget a name SHE has just used. Now, I'm not quite that bad, but... For about the sixth time I've tried to figure out whether one GBBO host's name is Michelle or Melissa when of course it's Alison. 😅

The tone of surprise and shock in this article is disgusting. After seeing this exact behavior from Trump dozens of times over the span of years? Very "but I'm a white man, how could he?" 🧐 Obviously no one in the Trump admin should ever work again, but this is also true of much of the press corps.

Good heck... When I was I think 7 or 8 I briefly had a dog I called Digger (a stray I found near my school, then his owners collected him a week later, I was crushed). I have wondered all my life since why Digger. NOW I KNOW! I would have been about the age of the kid in the ad when this was on TV.

I'm watching the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead, and it occurred to me that if it were remade today they'd be trying to board up the doors and windows by hammering nails into drywall. Which would make for a short movie. Unless they had a stud finder handy.

Thrilled to see that Wisdom is back! I hope to keep seeing her for many years to come. 😁

I suggest a carton a day, minimum, if you want the full health benefits of nicotine and tar.

In the immortal words of Luke "Wolverine" Skywalker, may thy knife chip and shatter.

Man... the fucking Onion today. What the hell is wrong with white people? Asking as one.

hey ben. the guy in the picture here is an actual person, my friend’s dad, and a spiritual leader of Lakota people, Chief Arvol Looking Horse. not only does he support Indigenous People’s Day, he’s the founder of World Peace and Prayer Day. feels weird to use his image and not his name.

Happy Indigenous People's Day from an Italian-American who believes Columbus' only legacy should be abomination for his many crimes against humanity, with a footnote that he wasn't unusual in knowing the world to be round, and he was a shit navigator as well as a shit human.

Just be prepared to be considered spam automatically everywhere if you try to use one for email. For years I had a .info domain, and that was my experience. Also not being able to complete forms, email rejected by automated systems, etc.

The state propaganda service informs me that the state is not doing any of the things we can actually see the state doing. I am so relieved to know the evidence of my senses was wrong.

National Guard soldiers, who are in DC specifically to intimidate people, are standing in front of a ballot drop box. This isn't theoretical, this isn't a fantasy, it's right there in the photograph. Which hasn't prevented folks like this from trying to tell you voter intimidation is something else.

Siamo tutti antifascisti, motherfuckers.

Siamo tutti antifascisti! They're chanting the old anti-Mussolini slogan in Italian. Oh, my heart. 😭

The Battlestar Galactica remake. It started strong, as a more realistic take on the premise, wobbled badly every time a Cylon talked about god, and went completely off the rails into an apologia for eugenics and mass slaughter of the undeserving. I can't watch even the good parts now.

Great thread, and it neatly encapsulates why I think Jurassic Park is the rare perfect movie. Acting, directing, effects, yes, but more importantly every frame is earned. Nothing happens without being set up and foreshadowed, no setup is left without appropriate payoff. This monologue is its heart:

"I'm the trouble starter, pumpkin instigator." 😂 I should be trying to sleep. Instead I'm watching this for the seventh time.

If they're going to send me back, the genre just changed to horror. 🧐

It's extra alarming that those are NOT the colors of the American flag. They're dimmer, greyer, darker. The eagle has no olive branch, just arrows. This is pure fascism: "We are a nation in decline, and it's all because of [insert marginalized group of the moment]."

1) Alternative medicine is an alternative TO medicine. 2) Why do these people always believe unquestioningly that the greediest corporations on Earth would not profit from this if it worked? "Don't try to make your own radium water at home, buy only pure, reliable Radnufi from PharmaKom!"

It's 61° F, high of 67. Humidity at 63%. No rain forecast all week. I'm gonna risk it. I'm gonna open a window! And I'm going to pray to Sakhmet not to afflict me with mildew for my hubris. Living with a river and damp soil as the predominant landforms can be such fun.

I would very much like to sleep, brain, if you could just stop whatever the hell it is you're doing instead of that.

People who are tired, angry, and in pain are more likely to be cruel, which of course is the point.

What's darkly amusing and pathetic is that @jamestalarico.bsky.social mostly talks about trans children by saying he wants to deny them medical care and participation in sports. Just like the Republicans. Ain't workin' out so great, is it, Bucky?
