Revisited the Burgundydrop Bonnets. They’re in a section of woods that’s usually too marshy to get to but it dried out this summer. Looks like it’ll soon be flooded again. 🍄 #FungiFriends #MushroomMonday

These Shaggy Scalycaps have such a cosy spot inside a tree stump. Even when it’s tipping down and the wind is howling they look safe and snug. 🍄 #FungiFriends #MushroomMonday

After finding the damaged example very chuffed to find two Devil’s Fingers still in their cases. 🍄 #FungiFriends

At first I thought this Devil’s Fingers had just opened but has it had its arms removed? Do any #FungiFriends know what’s what?

There’s a nice little copse in the common where cows can roam thru the trees. Their ‘product’ is inundated with tiny Cowpat Gems. Some of the nearby rabbit droppings seem to have some too. 🍄 #FungiFriends #FungiFriday

Think this might be a bracket fungus growing flat out of the bark surface rather than forming a protruding shelf. Also seems to have a leaf drawn on it(?). 🍄 #FungiFriends

Love the shapes this is making. Not quite sure what it is but there were lots of little clumps on a big pile of old woodland cuttings. 🍄 #FungiFriends

Very excited to find a Bird’s Nest fungus for the first time. Looks like it’s Fluted Bird’s Nest and there was a colony of dozens. 🍄 #FungiFriends #FungiFriday

haha I love just checking out all the wild mushrooms this time of ye- what's that? no, actually we didn't see any chantrelles, which is a little weird but no big deal that's just how it is with mushrooms I'm fine with it personally because it's all about like just getting out there right *sobs*

Three crows were (very loudly) chasing a buzzard that fled the scene and perched on a telegraph pole. One crow landed on the wire and scared the buzzard off with just the power of its stare and then took the perch. #Birds

A few images from yesterday's time spent in a local forest here in Washington State. I made a rough cut long-form video of the time in the forest including the behind the scenes for most of these pictures. I plan to print the first 3 pictures. #Mushroom #Fungi #MacroPhotography #Nature

I can't stop thinking how wrong the tech bros have understood creativity and creators. Or even just having hobbies. #erliart

Defra is gathering evidence that could shape the future policy on gamebird shooting. Have your say! Have you experienced issues such as gamebird collisions, dumped dead birds, illegal traps, suspicious raptor deaths, disturbance, damage or loss of access to land? For info, visit buff.ly/TGjrkrK

October's autumnal magic is here! Look out for: • The brilliant shades of autumn colour • Fungi appearing (admire, don't pick, as some can be poisonous) • Spiders and their webs • Nuts and berries ripening for wildlife Take a moment to slow down and enjoy the natural world 🍂 📸Emma Varley

Not many mushrooms about so far this year. Spotted these inkcaps in the bottom of a ditch that’s usually (in less dryer years) a small stream. 🍄 #FungiFriday #FungiFriends
