#MusicHistoryA-Z #musicsky A-Mafia Rapper from Harlem. He was active from about 2004-2014. The reason for him stopping making music was being incarcerated. Reading some new info about him that says he's now out of jail and possibly starting up again. He was affiliated with Dipset.

just for shits, I wanted to test how faulty google's AI actually is by asking it a question about a George Jones song that I have 4 distinct versions of. I did my own research first, and it probably took me abut 15 minutes to get it figured out......

so yeah, it "saved time" technically, but how would I have known it was wrong the whole time if I never had to fucking coax it into being correct? what a worthless technology.... people that use it get everything they deserve.... first time in my life I can think of where technology went backwards.

my favorite part of the whole ordeal is when the AI tried to insist that the OBVIOUSLY 80's recorded version was an alternate mix from the original recording session in the early 1960's..... just asinine......

the AI gave me 3 wrong answers in a row, insisted it was correct all 3 times, and it only gave me the correct information after I shamed it for being wrong....... wtf are we even doing here? ๐Ÿ˜†... and that whole process took about 8-10 minutes.....

#MusicHistoryA-Z #musicsky Amaka Hahina Experimental act from France fronted by Beleth'Rim. Their sound is described as morbid dark ambient. They were active from about 1995-2002.

#MusicHistoryA-Z #musicsky Amadou Balake Singer, songwriter, and band leader from Burkina Faso. He started around 1962 and stayed active up until his death in 2014. In the late 70's and early 80's he gained fame outside of Africa, and was mildly successful in New York and Paris.

I had to look up who did the beak for Break Ya Neck by Busta Rhymes, because that's an all time ridiculous beat, and i'm honestly surprised that it's credited as Dr. Dre and Scott Storch.... that must have been peak cocaine Scott Storch material, he was in the zone on another plane of existence...

as I walked past a parked Tesla a creepy laugh boomed as the lights flashed & spooky music played and how incredibly fucking lame to have that on a car and to turn it on makes you even unfunnier than Elon Musk, the most terminally unfunny man alive

#MusicHistoryA-Z #musicsky Amadou & Mariam Afro-funk duo from Mali. They were active from 1980 until Amadou's death in 2025. They had the unique situation of being both a married couple who performed together, but they were also both blind people. Their music went worldwide in 1998.

i'm not sure what the name of the book is, but i'm assuming it's the same book for both songs..... where it's a book about how to write a hit song.. and Del applied the concepts in the book to rap and that's how he wrote his verse on Clint Eastwood, but Buck 65 also did it for Super Pretty Naughty.

also, there's a song "featuring Bobby Womack", where I think he's just talking in the background for a quick sec...... I wonder if this was a way to get these dead people's family more money or something...

also - on this same tip, the song with Tony Allen has no drums on it.... it's a drumless song.... he was a drummer..... I think he says one phrase at the beginning of the song ๐Ÿ˜†

and i'll hand it to Damon, this is a well produced album.... I don't know how much I actually enjoy it as a whole, but it sounds great... super crisp, but still deep and almost psychedelic at times.... sounds great on my speakers.

this is definitely a little different from previous albums..... also, I never thought i'd ever hear auto tuned Damon Albarn ๐Ÿ˜†.... this is almost like an alternate universe Major Lazer album or something...

also, as a side note, it's weird that he dedicated this to all the musicians he worked with that died and included them.... but then there's tons of alive people on here too... i'd feel like he put a hex on me ๐Ÿ˜†

oh he CAN still sing ๐Ÿ˜† after the last couple new Osees albums I heard, I thought maybe he lost his voice or damaged his vocal chords somehow, but apparently that's just intentional on those albums, because he sounds fine here.

I started the Chucky tv series, because I never caught it when it was new, and I figured why not..... it's honestly better than I thought it would be so far....
