FYI!
To accommodate CDOT’s replacement of the Lake Street Bridge, which has been extended an additional 2 days, Green and Pink Line rail service will resume fully by 4 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28. The temporary service adjustments previously established for Green and Pink line trains will remain in place.
“One more lane bro” doesn’t work. NITA is the answer — but only if we dare to make clear commitments to transform Metra into regional rail, build a network of Bus Rapid Transit lines, increase frequency across the board, and make build-ready plans for new L lines. Oh, and #BuildTheTunnel.
A Sun-Times/WBEZ investigation confirms one driver's lament that it was "the worst traffic I've ever had to deal with." Worse yet, epic delays persist — a year after a three-year construction project ended and Gov. JB Pritzker promised “faster commutes.”

There is a “missing middle” of urban mobility but it ain’t Waymo: it’s regional rail starlinechicago.substack.com/p/the-missin...
Waymo is all over NYC Climate Week, sponsoring a slew of events. I just watched Adam Lenz, Waymo's sustainability head, field softball questions from Heatmap's CEO (nothing re: added VMT). Waymo clearly hopes to piggyback on YIMBYism. Lenz described Waymo as the "missing middle" of city mobility.
Divvy is a critical transportation resource for our city, and we fully support its continued growth and expansion across our region. Every Divvy trip is one less car trip, to the benefit of everyone! Stay tune for more ways you can support bike share coming soon!

I wrote to my alder, finance committee vice chair Conway, about this bad plan that invests in more cars and driving, and $0 in transit
🚨 Urge your alder to hit the brakes on The 78 TIF! 🚨 Instead of investing in public transit like in the original 2019 plans, the City is now trying to ram through $216 million in public subsidies for a parking garage, with little transparency on the impact nor what public benefit this will provide.
This is unacceptable, and we need you to take action with us, urging your alderperson to not vote in favor of this on Monday, and to ask for more time, transparency, public input — and investments in public transit! Take action and send them an email today!
Literally what are we doing here?
Better Streets Chicago Executive Director Kyle Lucas provided a statement about Mayor Johnson nominating current CTA Board President Lest Barclay, who previously expressed skepticism about NITA, for the new CTA and NITA boards. We've added it to our post. chi.streetsblog.org/2026/07/07/c...
So we CAN #PlowTheSidewalks. The original pilot was $1.5-3m. The reduced pilot was budgeted for at $500k, but rejected after Mayor Johnson forced it to be legislated anyway.
Chicago closed the books on 2025 with an unassigned balance of $52 million — up from zero in its operating checkbook — thanks to spending controls and higher than expected revenues.
