What makes a monster? I’m looking for reprints for Grimdark Magazine: morally gray SFF, under 10,000 words. Any corner of the SFF welcome. Especially keen on stories that complicate who—or what—we call monstrous. No SA, no fridging. Email: beth@Grimdarkmagazine.com

My story, "The Rule of the Isotope," is the cover story for the latest issue of Grimdark Magazine. I hope you enjoy it!

It’s rare for me to love every single story in a short story collection, but Slantwise Histories by Alix E Harrow must be made of magic. Full review below:

Alma Katsu’s deeply disturbing reimagining of Dorian Gray for the online age, is not just a timely morality tale but a vivid lens through which to examine the way our personalities are being warped by the influencer era and the tech behind it. Full review below:

today's the day: Off the Reservation's live. so scary, so wonderful, so all-of-it-at-once. thanks, y'all, for considering it (in the Rod Serling sense). wish I had a copy of it here, so I could show it off, but ... here's a couple stamps I got in line last night, that are the coolest:

I love that line: "I met Sylvain Neuvel’s writing through The Test in 2019, and it made a simple promise: no wasted motion, no soft landings, big questions delivered with the economy of a blade." Via @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social

“Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me.” Rage Against the Machine shouted it. John Twelve Hawks makes a quieter, no less pointed statement to his readers.

I don’t think it’s fully sunk in that a character I created is being read and now seen through such glorious art yet, but it’s making me feel some kind of way🥹

As always, Hansen writes large. When you read any part of The Graven world, even this novella, it is cinema on the page. It is grand in all its panoramic, cinemascoped, and Technicolor majesty.

My readers are so damn talented!!! Philippe Jeanquartier from Switzerland created this incredible trio of fungal people illustrations, inspired by Mushroom Blues 🍄💙

🍄 TITLE REVEAL 🍄 The knives are out in A MURDER MOST FUNGAL, a Fungalverse novella set in the aftermath of Mushroom Blues, combining the culinary wonder of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, the kitchen chaos of The Bear, and the explosive tension of Hong Kong crime thrillers. Coming soon to a menu near you 🍣🔪
