A proposed rule fueled by Trump’s conspiracy theories would require the USPS to keep a list of voters it believes should be allowed to vote by mail—and give them the power to hold those ballots hostage. Urge them to say NO and help protect voting by mail: act.standupamerica.com/letters/cte-...

Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander have been found guilty of all counts of rape and sex trafficking. Yes! It is important to have the rich being held accountable. NO! Federal charges mean the can be pardoned by the predator in charge. How long until they pay for their pardon?

I would really love to know a gender breakdown of who has followed the story of one of then bravest humans to have been thrust into the spotlight against her will, for unspeakable things done to her, and seizing the moment to (hopefully) change minds and laws podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Do I really care if the rich and powerful in the Epstein Files did anything wrong? At the very least they knew what was going on and did nothing to protect those children (both girls and boys). They were complicit and deserve nothing less than ridicule and humiliation. Jail time would be good, also.

This will not and can not last forever. There is an expiration date on this administration. And I know it is hard but we can get through this together. In the meantime, should I become a shortwave radio operator, just in case?

When I heard about the Senate caving, I cried, literally. I am still working at 67 and Medicare + Supplemental is 20% of my SS. I believe I will lose my Supplemental because my surgery last summer was in excess of $75K. Going to have DNR tattooed on my chest cuz I just can't anymore. I

When Trump ruined the Rose Garden, "Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone? They paved paradise, put up a parking lot" rang thru my ears. The destruction of the East Wing has just left me angry and nauseous. It is the people's house. OUR house. How dare he?

Why should I worry? I live in a rural town that is above the fray. For now. What is happening in our beloved country is not acceptable and in my opinion is illegal and unconstitutional. I have to care and I have to fight. Because it is not about me, it is about you and us. I have to believe in that.

I know it is hard to keep up with what is currently going on. But can someone explain to me the current grift of Trump RX? That can not be a real thing. Unless it is, which makes me sick, in more ways than one.

Here is what I am beginning to despise. . .that Trump is the leader of the "Free World" while his administration systematically takes away our freedoms and makes enemies out of our allies. He is just the president of our failing democracy while the world mocks us.

The union representing the musicians from Jimmy Kimmel’s band releases a statement calling the FCC’s pressure on Disney “state censorship.”

There is no place in our country for political violence. None. Full stop. I did not agree with Charlie Kirk's world view but he had every right to say whatever he wanted. I can also say that I do not have to venerate his life or his views just because of the way he died. I do not. And I won't.

This past week I have heard from family and friends getting passports. Just in case. I understand. I wholeheartedly want them to be safe. For now, I need to stay and fight for our dying democracy. There is no option, I can't capitulate.

About the SAVE act If the Senate passes this, I, as a registered voter since I was 18, would not be able to vote ever again. Why? Because I have no passport. Because my name on my Birth Certificate would not match my current name. Because I have been divorced. This is a poll tax against women.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

John Roberts’ name should be forever synonymous with the shame of enabling authoritarianism. Trump wants to be a tyrant because he’s a hateful, egotistical moron. But it’s John Roberts who’s helping him do it.

I think the Supreme Court got the law badly wrong tonight. But beyond that, it’s just incredibly ominous that Roberts would throw Boasberg under the bus and hand Trump this big win when his administration has conducted this case in EXTREME bad faith from the start. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Justice Sotomayor, writing in today's deportation case. How many times must she write, "With fear for our democracy, I dissent," before Republicans get the point? Perhaps only when, as the poem goes, they come for them.

It is almost like we seniors are in a throw away position. Take away our basic rights like SS that we paid into and told we no longer have worth and we should just go away and die. And yes, they do have a choice. I still have my vote and I will never vote against my right to exist.

BREAKING: Acting Social Security commissioner Leland Dudek says he is consulting with the Justice Department about shutting down the agency. Dudek told the Washington Post: “Unless I get clarification, I’ll just start to shut it down. I don’t have much of a choice here.”

IDK if it is because he has the resources to take care of his mother, but regular folks like me on SS need that income to pay our housing, utilities, insurance, food and medication. Adding insult to injury he adds that if we complain about just trying to survive, we are fraudsters.

Trump’s Commerce Secretary just said seniors shouldn’t “call and complain” if they stop getting their Social Security checks: “A fraudster always makes the loudest noise screaming and complaining.”

bethiah.bsky.social reposted

WHY THE FUCK IS HE TALKING ABOUT NOT SENDING OUT SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS?!!!!

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

Trump’s commerce secretary Howard Lutnick says if Social Security skipped a check, his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain—and if you would, it indicates you are probably a fraudster. Insane.

Does anyone remember the "Death Panels" of 2009? Where the ACA would decide who would live and who would die. Back then it was a conspiracy theory that was widely denounced. Except now, with the threat to Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid that threat is very, very real.

According to Rachel Maddow, the Trump administration is cutting funding for the sterilizing of instruments for surgery at all VA hospitals, taking our military back to Civil War levels of safe medical care.

Trump: Gutting National Parks—And Hiding the Evidence National parks hit 331M visits, but Trump officials don’t want you to know. A leaked memo bans the Park Service from promoting the numbers—while firing rangers, closing visitor centers, and cutting safety. This won’t go well—we love our parks.
