I like opening an app and getting an advertisement trying to get me to use the app. And it’s like “yo, I’m using it right now could you fuck off with that” Anyways.

I’ve been a diehard Apple Maps user since the day it came out. You should know that two weeks ago I switched to Google Maps, and it’s vastly better. I may be the product with Google Maps, but Google Maps is also more focused on me having a good experience than Apple Maps is.

Me: I’m probably good with going back down from Claude Max. Claude: ha ok if you think so Claude: 4hrs off being in max “you’ve reached your limit” Me: I’ll wait Me: 60min later, fuck it, back to Max. (I also pay for Gemini and various APIs ugh)

Discord is the worst iOS app I use daily. Won’t even open on my phone today. Point to this bullshit whenever someone says “no one needs native iOS development”

Played with Clawdbot / Moltbot all day today on a Mac Mini. Compared it to a similarly styled app I vibe coded. In the past few days my vibe coded app used about $3 of tokens via Open AI on a mixture of cheap and expensive models. Moltbot hit $7 just today on a very cheap models.

Moltbot is simply carefree with its token use and it still often fails on tasks and has to be prompted to try again. Literally used the Claude Mac app to clean out the BS Moltbot created. Lol

iOS/iPadOS 26.1 allows you to disable swipe to open camera from the lock screen, I always hated that gesture, good riddance. (Settings > Camera)

iCloud sync used to be magic. Now I spend a lot of time staring at my iPhone’s Photos app waiting for it to sync 1 photo and then staring at my iPad waiting for it to pick up that one photo. Then I go use my open source, self-hosted, photo app and it’s synced everything before iCloud launched.

This version is now Remind Me Fasterer.

Remind Me Faster 6.1 is available now. This is a quiet release. There are no new features. I’ve re-written the startup sequence (long overdue) which should reduce the occasional loading spinners. And there are various little areas of UI that have been polished. apps.apple.com/gb/app/remin...

Claude v. GPT-5 - GPT-5: “wow that was fast, but not really what I asked but kind of, don’t be lazy” - Claude: “my dude, I just wanted a quick short answer, not a dissertation on it, could you chill a little”

After media reports & experts warned for months that drastic & sudden cuts at the Nat Weather Service by Trump could impair their forecasting ability & endanger lives during the storm season, TX officials blame an inaccurate forecast by NWS for the deadly results of the flood.

I heard this went out of stock and I think the brand might be on a well deserved vacation. But, I stand by the fact that you can’t spend any amount of money to get something better than this for the office. And some would say I’ve *tested* way too many backpacks.

Alpha One Niner Whitley (v1) This is the best office backpack I’ve ever used.

Installed macOS 26 and iOS 26. Current rating is YIKES out of five stars for the design. Hoping this changes quite a bit before September, because otherwise this is not going to be fun times. And, yes, I know. Feedback. Beta. Etc. But I fear at this stage, it’ll be tweaks, not an overhaul.

I too am running the new shiny on my iPad, and I feel like I am losing my damned mind each time I read that there’s someone who thinks this looks good. This looks terrible. iPad multi-tasking upgrades are nice though.

There was a point in time when it would be silly not to have the Shop mobile app. Grey little utility and all that. Fast forward to today and you can’t even check on orders without a splash screen taking over to tell you about shop week. App deleted.

I know the Android app ecosystem is a mess but there are very talented iOS developers out there who should be thinking really hard about what this says about what Apple thinks of them

This is so damning - Apple used its copywriting prowess to make the web itself sound unsafe www.theverge.com/apple/659296...

Kid: Can you ask Siri what $20 in Robux is? Siri: Would you like me to ask ChatGPT? Me: Ok. Kid: Nevermind, new Siri knows nothing. The old Siri on my iPhone can answer that, but the new Siri on my iPad just always wants to ask ChatGPT and it never works. Apple’s in a bad spot. Kid is 11.

Things which are easier then moving from old iPhone to new iPhone: 1. Old Mac to new Mac 2. Writing a full functioning web app with Claude 3. Troubleshooting DNS entries 4. Buying a new car 5. Tanking the economy with Tariffs.

Seems bold to still be blogging about what/how a new iPhone model will be in September. Makes a lot of assumptions about, well, everything.

It’s so funny, there’s a long social media tradition going back 25 years of making a big deal about how you were going to quit, and then only being gone for like half a day.
