Not wanting to play into the narrative but I went to the 40th Anniversary Gala Performance of Phantom of the Opera on Friday (it was incredible), Sadiq Khan was there, guess who wasn't?

I have a spare ticket for tomorrow's Operation Mincemeat matinee (in London). If anyone wants to join DM me, I do not care if we've never met. Can also provide off the record Westminster gossip 🫢

How, how I ask you, is it the same process, 17 YEARS LATER, to change the name on a driving licence? They need to get whoever sorted out the passport office into the DVLA pronto.

One of the few downsides of my school having been burned down previously is that when it was rebuilt most of the classrooms were fitted with AC.

Headteachers in London are being told to keep their schools open in the heat. Many are concluding they can’t. But they’re also worried about Ofsted attendance stats and whether they’re just sending kids home to cook in even hotter flats. www.londoncentric.media/p/londons-sc...

I saw somewhere that 90s eyebrows are coming back in and I feel like this is the most important thing our government needs to tackle. I STILL have a gap in my left one from the actual 90s.

I've been saying for ages that the problem with the good things the government has done is that they are things that people will absolutely not notice. They won't notice that they've not been unfairly dismissed or evicted so the government will get absolutely no credit for them.

So imagine your company has to get approval from all employees to do stuff. But they know how everyone is going to vote, because they vote according to who they're manager is, unless they don't, in which case they've probably been vocal about it anyway so you know how they're going to vote.

To get this data rather than have everyone spend 5 minutes filling in a form they're going to make you all stay at work for about 4 hours and randomly call everyone to vote by going standing in a "yes" or "no" room.

You don't have to do anything in between, just be available to walk to the right room when called. That is what MPs are doing in the evening when they're "at work", sometimes till gone 10pm. That's why they're allowing drink at work. A lot don't, but some do.

Notably not an MP currently but my sister works in Haydock Tesco and Andy Burnham was there the other week. We're still not sure why he would have been in Haydock, given everyone else is trying to leave.

Encounters with MPs in retail environments is exactly the kind of bank holiday weekend content I'd like, please do keep them coming

The only good part of RoS is that they'd clearly given up trying to get a take where Oscar Isaac doesn't sound exasperated when he says "somehow Palpatinr returned" because he clearly thought it was bullshit

Yeah, very obviously The Last Jedi envisages a time skip, and one big hint as to that is that Duel of the Fates...has one.

I'm starting to feel like teenage Shirley Valentine was on to something. "I hate the world. I hate everything. It's all garbage. It's last. It's crap, and I hate it."

That is an old ass cat, I bet he's a complete arsehole 😂

Dominic Dyer: @number10cat.bsky.social Larry the Cat will have been in Downing Street 15 years next week, he is the most stable thing about British politics these days

This really is getting to the: "If I'm going down I'm taking all you fuckers (and the country) with me!" stage of end of premiership cycle.
