It’s kind of odd but I like to compare Deus Ex to the Buster Keaton films. Dangerous and ridiculous and absurd and it worked because nobody knew not to do it yet. And now it seems impossible. 🫡

Warren Spector says he's 'retiring from game development': aftermath.site/warren-spector...

one of my favorite pieces of game writing ever is a one paragraph translated Chinese review of Disco Elysium on amazon dot com. maybe I can be a good person for a while.

"Game dev is one of those jobs you only do when you really want to. It's not going to make your parents proud, you're unlikely to get rich in an industry that lays off people for making superhits, and its a demanding & confrontative job. Why would you let a machine do the thing you're here to do?"

I spent the last few months talking to over 30 game developers about generative AI. It began as a sort of interview survey but became a pretty comprehensive collection of arguments against the technology altogether. www.gamesradar.com/games/why-so...

first try at lighting a scene in unreal engine, how did I do?

Came across this house on a drive last night. It's a little upper-end with the interior courtyard gate and lighting and stuff but absent the land cost many Americans live like this in our great country.

Michael is a friend and I’ve witnessed this all play out firsthand. I will only say to never give a moment of your time or a cent of your money to engaging with miHoYo slop. Despicable behavior that should lead to resignations

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

New game is basically this

It's simple numbers. Big companies pay like two percent tax, while you and me, we pay like fifty. It's the tax code that makes sure big bureaucracy gets bigger and people have no power.

In the 90s what they called “payola” was deemed one of the worst crimes an artist could commit. To be caught paying for coverage would condemn you as a sellout for life. In 2026 it’s called “marketing” and you are chided and called Unserious if you refuse to do it. 😊

Maybe the best game of all time is 20 years old today.

Today, April 20th, 2026 is the 20th Anniversary of the release of Mother 3 in Japan. It has yet to be officially localized in any language.

quick 9 based on what’s influenced my current project the most. Hoping to have a real announcement soon 🤓✌️

Tried to do the 9 games for the games I played on my first games machine (Amstrad CPC) and so likely the most formative stuff; but don't love that weird box art for StarQuake (genius 8-bit open world metroidvania)

Recently played: CAIRN, my second French rock climbing game in the past six months. Surprisingly elegant controls, great characters, a compelling and understated narrative. I really enjoyed it overall, but I'll admit to finding the psychedelic ending a bit trite. Not my thing I guess 😜

In December 2025 the contents of the PS2 game 'Yu-Gi-Oh: The Duelists of the Roses' were dumped to the Modeler's Resource by user Batzpup. I've never heard of this game before today but apparently it is just hundreds upon hundreds of stone-cold low-poly masterpieces.

SHIVERS - A grey rain falls on Martinaise. The city soaks in it, cold and dripping. Waves hit the concrete breakers. The homeless huddle by the fires behind the fences. There, among the shacks, is your home. Stay. Have a drink. Forever.
