In general, I'm opposed to denying media credentials due to negative stories. I think nine times out of 10, 99 out of 100, it's an overreaction by a thin-skinned rich jerk and any instance is just an excuse for someone who wants to abuse it. But in this case they seem to only be there to drag it…

I've been saying it about movies for years but it's true of games too, there's such a huge opening for a new publisher that focuses on untested artists and big swings. Someone to zag when everyone else is zigging, give mid-budget money to groups publishers used to fund but don't anymore.

From the movie side I think the evidence it can work is Blumhouse. They focused on one genre but they used quality and creativity as their benchmark rather than focus group determined marketability, had several misses, but ultimately got huge fairly quickly because of the hits.

I'd think about what I've kinda wanted to do but never did because it's out of character or it never seemed like the right time and I'd do that. Not necessarily as a bucket list thing, but because when I'm going through a rough patch it's nice to have a recent adventure, even if it was a disaster.

I just watched the single most mediocre found footage horror movie I’ve ever seen, I mean a movie at exactly replacement level, and at the end realized it’s the only other movie from the director of the first Paranormal Activity. So that tracks.
