i feel like a lot of people fail to realize that a lot of tech companies also fall victim to the influence of the shareholders and authoritarians just like every other corporation. sure the actual people making decisions on implementation could do better but capitalism is ultimately to blame

i think terrafirmagreg has ruined a lot of other minecraft modpacks for me because i have not found a comparable pack with a solid linear progression that has actual depth to every stage similar to tfg

a lot of the depth of tfg can be attributed to the absolutely absurd amount of content in gtceu but there is also a ton of custom additions to the progression and early game challenges with terrafirmacraft that make it so much more interesting to me

kitchen sink packs are fun when you get a bunch of friends together and host a server for like a week but as soon as everyone picked a single mod and finished it (because the progression of the mods are ruined by each other overlapping in functionality) it gets boring and everyone stops playing

after being made to use llm based code tools for work i still am of the opinion that it is at best a bandaid solution for bad tooling and if you take the effort to write out some templates/codegen for common/boring tasks (which is where llms actually work) it is like 99% less useful

no matter the harness or prompting or context or whatever bs you throw at the llm it is still a glorified non-deterministic natural language template generator
