Not only do I not trust the models that go into the '15% chance to score 11th run' thing that was on TV, I can't imagine why I would need to know how likely the Brewers are to score an 11th run. #WorldSeries

Though last year I remember the Blue Jays manager got ejected arguing a checked swing when I think the score was 10-1. That was the game we ended up winning 20-1. #Royals

I had to look up the exact score (19-8) but I remembered that the Red Sox were blown out at home in Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS. So there is at least some precedence for the Rays coming back, if you're willing to engage in some cherry picking. #WorldSeries

*Frantically looks up if a position player has ever pitched in a #WorldSeries game* (It looks like the answer is 'no', but I don't really trust the AI summary.)

I almost hate that Walmart ad that shits on the Muppet Christmas Carol more than the weird betting ad with the topless woman. I don't quite, but it's close.

The Brewers broadcast are talking about an imaginary 45 degree angle and Gasser was barely/not within even that, but the rule requires the pitcher to step 'directly' toward the bag. He wasn't close to that. #WorldSeries

I assume someone must like these awful animations when Fox wants to present a stat, but I hope most of the people who like them are network execs rather than actual viewers. #WorldSeries

My suggestion for the next MLB CBA is that is we're going to fuck with the schedule, we should make it weather-based. Like right now it's 24C and sunny with a nice breeze and it's feels kinda bullshit that we don't have a fairly meaningless regular season day game. #Royals

Take nothing away from the excitement of the World Series later, but we're wasting a perfect afternoon to be playing Seattle or Pittsburgh or somebody in a game with very little at stake. #Royals

I don't think that last kick was a penalty, though it was more of a foul than the one Ball got booked for. Not that it matters when time runs out though! #KCBaby

I don't blame the ref for calling it live, but the replay showed that was a clean shoulder-to-shoulder. Rodman was just out-muscled. Fortunately nothing came from the free kick. #KCBaby

Not only did I miss the first seven minutes of the Current match just trying to find where it was on TV today, ESPN+ is being its usual dodgy self, so I can still barely see what's happening. #KCBaby

It's obviously been noted that these Brewers are like the 2015 Royals, but the resilience is what really strikes me. They have that same relentlessness that we had. #WorldSeries

The Brewers commentator mentioned exactly what I was thinking, which is the end of that NLDS a few years ago. But in this case, I think the call was right. #WorldSeries

There probably wasn't enough to prove his foot was down on the plate, but it wasn't any less convincing than the play at second last night. I'm more annoyed Contreras swung at ball four though. #WorldSeries

I think blocking the plate only applies to throws from the outfield, but I could be wrong. I honestly find that rule extremely confusing. #WorldSeries

I wanted the Rays to win, but there would have been something fun about a Milwaukee-Cleveland matchup: The American League came from the Western League, and was centred around the great lakes. Original teams included Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit... and the Milwaukee Brewers. #Postseason

Those Brewers were not /these/ Brewers, of course, though the modern Brewers also started in the American League*. Those Brewers moved to St Louis very soon after the AL was founded and became the St Louis Browns. *I am just old enough I still sorta think of the Brewers as an AL team.

The Browns name came from the old name of the NL club in St Louis, who had since switched to a shade of red that reminded people of Catholic clergy. The original AL also had a Baltimore Orioles team that moved to New York. Later the Browns would move to Baltimore and still not pick an original name.

Brewers/Rays is the 8th World Series between teams that have never won one before 1903 Americans (Red Sox)/Pirates 1905 Giants/Athletics 1906 White Sox/Cubs 1907 Cubs/Tigers 1909 Pirates/Tigers 1920 Indians/Robins (Dodgers) 1980 Phillies/Royals 2026 Brewers/Rays (good idea @mikemedvin.bsky.social)

It's not only going to be a first time World Series winner, it's going to be a really deserving World Series winner. These are the best two teams and they played the best baseball all October. #Postseason

The Rays need to sit Baker right back down now. He needs a break and it's no longer a save situation. Have someone else pitch the ninth and only bring him in if it gets close again. #Postseason

I can't blame the second baseman for making a play that far on his side of the bag, but it is preferable to give way to the fielder moving toward first. #Postseason
