Probably gonna spend an hour before game tonight playing a silly game on twitch (Truck-Kun is Supporting Me from Another World). A game where you are sending things the Isekai way by hitting them with your truck. I am serious. Never tried it, let's give it a go.

A digital attack is being conducted against Fool & Scholar Productions during #DontMindPod 's 3rd Season Riku Cave being released. It's a small team that intentionally hires diverse casts and uses a ton of actors from all over the globe in absolutely brillaint horror stories. Give a listen!

Going live on #FieldsofMistria at my #Twitch in about 5 minutes! Stop in if you like as I am doing a one hour play, so three in-game days, no wiki, no looking stuff up, just being a silly little bug catcher and farmer!

I want to say how cool it is to see people who I backed on previous ttrpg projects have new ones they're working on. Genuinely, we live in a horrible timeline. You continuing to make games and art in spite of it all? It's inspiring and I appreciate the hell out of it.

Going to try again on the streaming in probably about 90 minutes or so. We shall see if I remember to hit the go-live button on Bluesky. Playing more #FieldsofMistria on #Twitch at @bardicgeek as the username. My channel is not monetized, so it is commercial free.

Might sneak in another hour of #streaming starting at about 7:30 pm Central or so to try and unwind a bit after a *very* Monday. #FieldsofMistria again if anyone is interested. Only an hour in so far! @Bardicgeek on Twitch if you're inclined! Same username if you're not inclined.

Hey Bluesky! Here is a fun, hopefully fruitful adventure we can go on. Pictured is a very comfy fabric pattern for a pair of joggers my spouse has that I bought them back in 2023 at Rosemont, IL's ComicCon. We would love to find the original vendor and see about getting more! Anyone recognize these?

A dear friend of mine might have to replace her entire set of dice masters due to some issues reaching the current holder of them and Whitney needs new molds to make dice. She is using her workshop gofundme to get the funds to replace them. If you can spare, www.gofundme.com/f/whitney-ne...

Looks like Thanksgiving this year is going to occur in Ohio. Not many know but I was originally spawned from the corn fields like many Ohioans. So, going to plot a road trip and see how many folks we can say hi to!

Dan is a delightful presence in the TTRPG space. Highly recommend checking out their games but also their pre-launch page!

Sadie is live now!

I'm gonna be playing Baldur's Gate 3 this evening at 7 Central! We've done character creation, but now it's time to start the story, and Amity has one very important character principle (for now): Accept every kindness. Who knows how that will go! Twitch.tv/OakleafInsignia

Took the week off of work. So far I have had 2 walks, visited 1 small park with historic buildings to take pictures of, visited an indie book/vinyl shop, and had a lunch date with my spouse. I won't be recovered from workplace burnout by next week. But it'll be better.

Discord servers, especially large ones? Need to use risk-based assessment tools that flag accounts for potentially sus behavior. Ones that limit access to Patreon subscribers do a huge service to their fans by making a paywall that scammers and fraudsters won't pay to play.

oh hey - I wrote one of those. I guess my first game goes to funding and print soon-ish? Want a solo-journaling game that made me cry during lunch? Want a way to say goodbye to a character who almost made it? Well I made a bunch of rolling tables to help with that!

In The End, a solo journaling duology will be crowdfunding through @backerkit.com ! www.backerkit.com/c/projects/o...

Ball pythons sometimes need you to literally play with their food for them to go after it. No, I am not joking. My danger noodle Gemelli won't spring at a thawed and warmed rat while in his killbox if I don't dangle it around. And even then he might lose interest halfway through the process.

Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are a major part of why I love the fantasy genre. I may not play D&D anymore, but I am glad that the world they created still will have their hand on the wheel in other formats. This is a nice surprise.

Dragonlance author Margaret Weis posted about their upcoming book that is being developed with the D&D Icons line. Appears it is a world guide to Dragonlance and will come out in 2029.

It is telling that 5 of my top 10 Steam games by most played in hours can directly tie back to Story Of Seasons/Harvest Moon Inspired games. To be fair... They are very good games. And yes, 1 of them is Stardew Valley. Which easily breaks into my top 5 if you count hours played on my Switch.

This morning I adjusted my recipe a bit for the bread machine and both bloomed my yeast and also added a tablespoon of vital wheat gluten to see if I can make a less dense loaf. This has been a Sunday #BreadScience update. More news to follow.

Follow up, it currently smells like bread. 45 minutes left to go. Based on the viewing window it does appear we have a structural failure of the crust, so the air pocket integrity has fallen. Pour some starter out in memoriam of bread that will likely remain dense. #BreadScience

Good news! The size of the loaf remained the same but the air pockets were more numerous and smaller resulting in a less dense and chewier bread. This made for a success even if the results, at first glance, did not appear superior. #BreadScience

There is a weird balance between being extremely excited to playtest a tabletop game you are working with friends on vs. knowing you have hours more work to do just to make sure it doesn't immediately break down when you start the table next. Still fun though.

So, my ttrpg has archetype cards you draw on a quest to boost stats, to randomize growth, a little right? Hard to do online. Well now the Google Sheet does it all for you. You just tell the sheet which card you drew. Also there's a rolling table. I am so happy with this result.

Played with the tools to edit a video of my spouse talking about a quasi-local game shop to us. Using a gimbal, recording in a live space, and then editing in DaVinci (free one) is neat. Pretty intuitive after Premier.

After midnight after a... probably 12 or 13 hour work day and an hour of doing tabletop stuff after that? Just laid down. Thought of a big solve for my design to simplify one hurdle that has been bugging me. Hell yeah.

Okay. The math might be mathing better on the tabletop game. I changed a lot of the comparison maths against Target Ranks to make attacking things well below you less of a cake walk and well above you remains punishing. Gotta see how I want to handle Rank based HP, MP, and TP. Might lower those.

So, I figured out how to handle the "Withstand" defensive action. tTIGR has a call/response to attack and defense, but the tanks just soak the hits with a separate action than Dodge and Parry. Before I had it negate damage if successful like dodging and parrying. That was far too useful.

Rewriting the math of a complex TTRPG and realizing how fun this is? That is why I keep coming back. Weird math is just fun. Now, would it work better if it was programmed into something? Yes. But the game is meant to be played at a table, with tablets or a toolkit. So, it will work.

If I had a giant chalkboard, I would write out so many TTRPG maths it would make math professors question my profession. Or sanity. ... Computah, where do I get 2 giant chalkboards. ... now make them kiss.

Sadie picked up on a ton more themes, motifs, metaphors, and threads than I had when I saw it. Lots of fun to observe them process it. It is the coolest feeling to be impressed by your partner being brilliant.

My favorite for spooky seasons is Fortune Favors the Deep. Playing a game that's all about lurking dread and monsters from the void is always good to set a terrifying atmosphere.
