FINALLY FINISHED!!
Behold, my entry for this year's @desertbus.org : A Hollow Knight/Silksong bug mask display!
The masks are made of porcelain, with some thread for Lace. I stained, varnished, and lined the wooden display cabinet myself. The masks are attached by magnets.
I hope folks like it!
Big thank you to @magic.wizards.com for supporting our @extralife4kids.bsky.social event supporting Children's Miracle Network! This will ensure that this year is the best one yet! More details about the event here: mtgforkids.org#ExtraLife
Hey #Nerdlings. It's been a minute since I gave an update on my #EmperorsChildren 40k army. So, here's the bullet points:
-I'm way behind on painting. Not even done with my Champions of Slaanesh box.
-I've got a Winged Daemon Prince in sub-assemblies ready to prime.
-I'm working on a new list for 11th Ed called "Rock'n'Roll Clown Car 2: Turn 'Em Sideways"
-I'm running the Rapid Evisceration and Elegant Brutes detachments. Is this a good combination? Absolutely not, but it will be hilarious.
-Also, I've got a Defiler on order, but it might be a while.

Do you need someone to guest appear for games/content on your channels???
Send me your schedules! I'll happily throw my hat into the ring!
Boy, I haven't posted my art in a hot minute so let's change that. Here's a commission I did a few years ago! The party for a DnD adventure! I had a lot of fun with this one, especially Irie and Ari!

This site needs a break. Post 3 good things, none of which are the cessation of a negative.
1. Really enjoying experimenting with my new airbrush
2. Having a lot of fun with Bug Fable, a Paper Mario-like RPG
3. I've got three boxes of Girl Scout cookies at home
Hey I still need two people for my Infinitoken roulette gimmick stream tonight! Think the treasure cruise format but instead of drawing from a deck you draw an Infinitoken and whatever the card recognizer identifies it as, it becomes a copy of that card!

Decided to make a hobby goal for 2026. Since I've gotten comfortable with painting miniatures, I think it's time to start a larger project: a full 2000 point Warhammer 40k army.
For now I'm considering my options. Let me know what you think I should pick or what your first army was.

Made some progress over the weekend. All my Infractors and Tormentors are primed, and I took one squad of Tormentors to an almost finished state. There's still some small things that need doing, but you can see where we're headed.

It's my 40th birthday today! I spent yesterday painting Warhammer 40k models and watching John WIck 3 to celebrate.
You can celebrate with me by donating to organizations that help our friends and neighbors in the trans community. tcpipeline.org and translifeline.org could be good places to start
Wanting to sell my Heroscape, Warhammer, Gundam cards and my last magic deck to try and offset a vehicle repair bill that's nearly 1k in cost.
Hit me in the inbox if you want info on the individual items and cards. Can work out a price for individual items of interest.

I'm taking Sublime Prescience on one Kako, and Spearhead Striker on another. That second Kako is taking a squad of Noise Marines into Strategic Reserves in the Land Raider for backfield shenanigans. The plan is move fast, hit hard.
So, tell me what you think of the list. What can I improve?
Cocktail Name: Sylvan Prime Cordial
It's inspired by the banned-in-commander card - Sylvan Primordial. It's a play on Mojito. Featured flavors include: lime, mint, cardamom, lemongrass, ginger, and matcha.

Got a deal on the models from the Champions of Slaanesh box. This stack of plastic clocks in around 700pts, currently. A big first step toward 2000pts
I'll start building this weekend, but I need to make a stop at my LGS to grab supplies before I start painting.
#Nerdlings#EmperorsChildren40k
Had a productive weekend while avoiding the snow. Got a Lord Exultant, 2 squads of 5 Infractors, and 2 squads of 5 Tormentors built. I think I only need one squad of Tormentors, but it can't hurt to have a second.
Next stop, Noise Marines and basing!

I'm calling it Rock'n'Roll Clown Car. The full list is still under construction (as I teach myself how to actually build one) but the core of the army is transports full of Noise Marines and some others.
Is it on-meta? Nope. Is it funny? I think so and that's what's important.
So, since I'm still learning, what do you think I need in a list like this? Who should lead?
Must haves:
3 squads of Noise Marines
2-3 Lord Kakophonists
1-2 C Rhinos
1-2 C Land Raiders
Other options:
Flawless Blades
C Terminators
King Clown (Fulgrim)
That Other Clown (Lucius)
Demon Prince (wings?)

I'm just going to keep this thread rolling, as I make decisions and take steps toward a full army.
My reasoning for picking the #EmperorsChildren40k is that I really love the Noise Marines, so I'd like to play as many of them as possible. This, though, is my first hurdle: Detachment
#Nerdlings
I've looked through the detachments and most of them skew heavily to the melee side of the army, which does make sense for the EC. So how do I get more rock and/or roll in my life?
The answer is the Rapid Evisceration detachment. The plan is to cram these clowns in a transport and go to town.

Was by myself most of today due to my partner getting paid to hang out with other peoples' cats, so I spent some time painting a new entry in my Pride Marines. #Nerdlings
Hey #nerdlings! I'm working on a project and want your help to figure out how to proceed. So...
In Warhammer 30k/40k, which of the original 18 Space Marine Legions do you most easily picture in Terminator armor? Pick up to three.
First final fantasy giveaway rn actually!
To celebrate starting this journey and to help out people next month, I’ll be giving away a play booster box of final fantasy! All you have to do is reply to this with a receipt of you donating at least $10 to a local food bank!

I want to offer my thoughts on why I think Splinter is Black-aligned, but I want to be clear that I don't particularly disagree with Shivam's take here. I actually think his suggestions are totally viable, and I can see a world where those are the choices WotC would make.
Now...
This is the one miss for me so far. I get mechanically why? And I get you need all five colors, but this is why in my take I had Mikey red and Raphael black so that Splinter could be green.
As a counterpoint, Shredder is completely externally focused. He exerts control over others, sacrifices his subordinates, and all in the name of his own ambition.
This is the major difference between the two characters. They are two sides of the same Black-aligned coin.
But that's just my view of the characters and the color philosophies. If my opinions serve to help you better understand the variety of ways Black can manifest, that's great! If not, well...you know what to do.
Any questions?

It's a bonsai tree approach to the self. Envision what you want to create, prune back what doesn't fit, and nurture what does. It isn't easy and it takes time, but it works for me.
Fear holding me back? Get rid of it.
Anger? Banked and redirected.
Pride? Kept to useful levels
I think this is where Splinter lives, as well. He lives a simple life, teaches his sons self-discipline, and when trouble shows up he is brutally efficient in dealing with it.
His focus being internal has allowed him to master himself. Splinter is a Black-aligned ideal.

-Self-centeredness
-Ambition
-Amorality
-Control
-Manipulation
-Sacrifice
-Brutal efficiency
I'm starting to see why Black-aligned mages might have an easy time walking an evil path.
But here's the trick: Not every Black-aligned mage has all these qualities or expresses them in the same ways.
I'm primarily Black-aligned. (Shocking, I know.)
I have ambition. I will any tool at my disposal. I'm not afraid to make necessary sacrifices with brutal efficiency.
But, for me, it's all introspective. It's that self-centeredness through a different lens. Self-focus.

Let's talk about Color Philosophy in Magic. Each color has its own ideals and ways of doing things. They have their focuses and blind spots. Importantly, no color is inherently good or evil, though I do believe some offer an easier path one way or the other.
So, what does Black bring to the table?
What am I supposed to do while I wait for Steam to work long enough for me to buy Silksong? I've already Bargled as hard as I know how.
Shoutout to @amytheamazonian.bsky.social for the Charbelcher list I used to Eat the World.
